Share Goo Glass Fiber Shock Absorber Board Anti-Vibration Damping Plate Mount Compatible with RC APM2.6 APM2.8 Pixhawk PX4 Flight Controller

I have a number of Pixhawk 1s from around 2014 and the vibration pads had melted into green goo from them being stored in my garage. Since I needed just one Pixhawk 1 for a project, I purchased this shock absorber board to mount the Pixhawk 1 on a vehicle chassis and isolate it from road vibrations. The mounting holes for the vibration dampers were slightly smaller in the bottom plate than in the top plate so I used a ream to enlarge them to the same size as the top plate. Installing the vibration dampers in their respective holes was a piece of cake. I looped a long piece of 22 awg wire sequentially through each of the holes, placed the loop of wire over the groove in one end of each vibration damper, and used the wire to pull the grooved end of each vibration damper into its respective mounting hole. Works for both the top and bottom plates. This plate works well isolating the Pixhawk 1's IMU from vehicle vibration as it is intended to do.

I mounted my Pixhawk 6x flight controller on this and flew a test flight. The vibration telemetry file showed a dramatic improvement but the drone seemed to fly about the same, and my camera video was still shaky with high zoom.

This flight controller vibration dampener could have been designed a little better. The upper and lower does not line up the holes perfectly. We did a little drilling ourselves to realign everything and after that the robber vibration dampeners lined up correctly and works great.

Solved my Pixhawk vibration problem

Look closely at the images. Top and bottom cushion holes don't line up at all. Also it is annoying pulling the large cushion through the small holes 8 times. You could easily make something as good as this for under 8.99.

Disappointed when I received this item. I purchased this thinking it was new. This was obviously used prior to me buying it. Full of scratches, scuffs, and was pretty dirty. I expect the products I buy to be new unless stated differently in the description. Ultimately the functionality is fine.
