Hi. It's a HC.2 . Italeri did a HC.1 catalogue ref 2662

Q: Where can you buy the correct paint and glue for this model please? (excuse my ignorance, this is a gift and I have no idea about model kits)

The correct paint and glue are available here on Amazon or eBay though there are many types to choose from. Most model builders use Tamiya thin glue in a bottle and water-based paints such as Vallejo. Be aware most paints are now for use with an airbrush.
