Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo - 2016 - 5 DVDs Set - English Subtitle

I could not find this anywhere with online services so I bought the DVDs. I love Kdramas and this is one of the best. There are many mentions in the reviews of some subtitles that are missing, but it is not frequent and not a hindrance at all. I love this story, and the two main leads Lee Joon-Gi and IU are favorites--and they are great in this. Loved all the cast. Wish they would have done a second season.

I truly enjoyed this story even though it was a disturbing picture of the lengths members of the royal family would go do to achieve their ambitions....packed with Korean stars....beautiful costumes.....sweet love story....I would have liked a better ending though it's not realistic to assume all characters 'live happily ever after'----had not seen the two main characters in dramas before this one, but since then, have seen them both in other powerful shows.....glad I bought it; glad I watched it!!

I am a guy who was not interested in any Korean drama shenanigan's. I asked my wife one day, Pick any show in the world and I will watch it with you. Well she chose this bad boi! I was skeptical at first. The more you watch the more it has you craving for you. I really enjoyed this show and the depiction of Asian history. I know that this show is based off a show from China. But I enjoyed the Korean version. I heard that there is currently an uproar on people wanting a second season and NOW I know why! I have joined their fight. I do hear that there is a new season coming but in 2022 or so. Believe me, My wife and I will be among the first people to watch it. For reals though. Give this show a try, It is really freaking amazing! (DO NOT FORGET TO BRING the TISSUES) haha.

For anyone wondering, like I did, this dvd is all region so it'll work on a regular dvd player. Like many said there are a few missing subtitles but it doesn't really affect anything. This is honestly such an amazing purchase since can't seem to find it anywhere else.

There are some parts that don't have translation, but that's the only issue I have. Love LOVE this drama. Watched it when it came out in 2016 and couldn't find it on ANY streaming services so I bought the DVD set

I saw clips of this Korean drama on YouTube. I wanted to watch it in it's entirety, but I couldn't find it on any of my Asian Apps and Youtube didn't have it either. So I decided to buy it! I am glad that I did! Even though it came out in 2016, it is still awesome. I will tell you to be prepared to shed some tears, though. I am hoping that they will make a sequel! Something like a reincarnation to modern times and they get together. All of the actors are at the top of their game! Lee Joon Gi and IU are fantastic and had great on screen chemistry. I highly recommend this Drama!

Love the acting, the actors, the storyline, the costumes. . .everything!! Kept waiting for this Kdrama to make a return to my streaming services and finally got tired of waiting!

Best kdrama I ever watched - nice blend of comedy, romance and history. Awesome costumes, decor and acting with unpredictable twists and turns. One goes through a variety of emotions - a nice change from what I am used to watching.

Could not find an online version so bought the DVD. It was good quality but had a lot of info strips along the bottom of the screen at times, as though it had been lifted off a TV production. It did not spoil the enjoyment of the drama for me which I thought was superb. I have seen Lee Joon Gi in other dramas and he is in every way a respect worthy actor. Likewise IU, I have seen her in other work. She always gets to the heart of her character and looks naturally beautiful. She plays a jilted girl who after a swimming accident goes back in time to her past life in the Goryeo Dynasty when she was cousin to a noble consort and a court lady. She befriends all the sons of King Taejo and because her narratives and responses are not of that time, she is greatly valued by many of them not just because of her looks but because her world view and sense of understanding is novel. I enjoyed the handling of this because it provided a moral contrast. Lee Joon Gi was just dynamic as the 4th Prince. He burst onto the screen following a wild ride on a dark horse, his face partially masked, and looking positively feral. He is our main romantic lead but this is not just a tale of love, it a story of abandonment, anger, passion and political alliances. The action and the story was so well paced. The costumes were gorgeous (I truly admire Korean traditional dress). The character arcs on all the princes and the court personalities and intriguers (the two Queens in particular) were wonderfully worked and scripted and well presented. It took the viewer to a fascinating time in history. How near to the real facts it was I cannot know, but it was a beautiful drama and the last episode wrung the heart out of me. I thought it was a clever ending because it left the possibilities open.

Fast delivery. Earlier than i thought. Good quality. Look forward to watching the series
