The app is not required for the unit to charge the vehicle as it is plug and play so the app conguses and it is a way to get you to provide the wifi password … I have provided 50 amps and it only ises 15 to charge the vehicle, it took less time to charge but I tought is was going to be more robust on the current output… if power is interrupted the memory goes away and it thinks that the charge is done… when it was still at 3 miles from 40

I strongly recommend checking with your local utility for similar programs.Installation on a dedicated 60 Amp circuit was smooth, allowing for a consistent 48 Amp charge. I also bought an adapter to ensure seamless charging for my Tesla, delivering the expected charging speed.The DEWALT app is user-friendly and offers essential features. What I most particularly appreciate, is the ability to set separate charging schedules for weekdays and weekends, maximizing cost-efficiency. By combining this with my Tesla's 80% charge limit, charging has become effortless. Simply plug in when you arrive home, and the charger automatically handles the rest, optimizing charging times based on my settings. It's truly a "set it and forget it" solution that guarantees the lowest charging costs.The quality is great as expected with the brand DEWALT. I had one question, and their customer service was very helpful. I strongly recommend this EV charger!!

We did an extensive search for an EV Charger and eventually settled on this Level 2 by DEWALT because of its reputable name - and we have not been disappointed with our choice.The installation was a breeze (using a licensed electrician) and the charging experiences (for both our electric and hybrid vehicles) have been excellent so far!The charger has performed well with no glitches and we've made good use of its WiFi features to remotely connect and monitor our charging sessions (especially when off-peak rates are flagged).Another reason for choosing DEWALT was for safety assurances (given the risks of charging a lithium-ion battery), so we liked that this charger is CSA-certified to prevent over-voltage, over-heating, etc.Lastly, its ample 3 yr warranty and 24/7 customer support is another comfort for those making this significant investment! We checked other competitors and trust me, they were not as generous - and we would likely be stuck with an AI bot!Overall, this was a great choice and is highly recommended for your Level 2 charging needs!!!

The manual states you cannot remote start your vehicle while plugged into this charger. If you do the device faults requiring a power cycle to reset.I worked with the manufacture and they even sent a replacement which the screen didn't work on.Nice app and design but do not buy if you actually want to preheat your car in the winter without going out to unplug it.

1st charger has no communication and could not be found via phone, so had no app control. They did send a new unit, and this one works great. The scheduling in the app seems buggy so far. Hard to get it to accept the schedule I want.
