Had one of these lid removers, no sharp edges, years ago until it blunted on the thicker cans of the day. Modern cans are thinner, and though this works the can tends to squash with its top removed, you need to be careful accessing the contents or they may spill. Still safer than other tin openers but only works on a rimmed lid; useless for opening crimped bases used for stacking.

I actually ordered a different can opener but was sent this one. Wish I had returned it but by the time I used it was past the return date. Yes it works well, but it needs more strength than some other openers. Anyone with arthritis in their hands ... don't buy it. I don't but I had 6 cans to open, by can 4 my wrist and hand was aching. It did a great job of removing the lid but think I will keep it as a spare.
