DAC that could
It’s pretty straight forward when it comes to setting up, this is distinctly to go between a television to avr, headphones, hi-fi amplifier, etc. the build is pretty solid and meets its specified output, from my experience the sample was actually higher, the sound is excellent, especially paired with a decent set-up. Very small but functional, it literally can be placed anywhere. Connections are pretty standard, low noise if any, just be-careful when connection to the headphones output volume 100, need to put something in-between headphones and the dac for volume control.

Works perfectly for application. Plug and play. Nothing else needed, including knowledge.
My needs are pretty mundane. We replaced our main TV and I took the old one for my shop. The top of the line Samsung (Series 9) TV's audio has always been a problem. It's only output, other than ARC and Bluetooth (neither work reliably) is TOSLINK. This DAC works perfectly to convert TOSLINK to analog RCA for a AK45 (search Amazon). This is a really cheap solution but it works well enough for the application.

Has bluetooth connectivity
As others have mentioned, this device has Bluetooth connectivity. It works well for me as I am connected to an older component stereo.I have a Roku device that’s connected to my tv and the audio works well. The only issue is when I play audio through my smart tv and I get a loud humming noise. If anyone figures out how to make it work please advise. Thank you

Great unit!
The media could not be loaded. Purchased the "DAC w/optical input" to convert digital sound from a vizio 55" to play sound through an old analog receiver/stereo system. Worked great out of the box. Perfect sync w/o delay, clear sound and easy to use. Cant beat the price either. Slam dunk purchase. Highly recommend.

Undocumented feature: Bluetooth receiver
It works just fine for me as a DAC (converting optical audio to baseband analog audio), but I was surprised to discover the undocumented Bluetooth receiver functionality that another reviewer mentioned. This option does not seem to have a way to manage or disable it, and there is no form of authentication needed when pairing, so it's basically open to anyone in range...a major security issue. The device advertises itself on Bluetooth as "YQ-88C." A higher rating would have been provided if this feature had been documented and if there was a way to control it.

Works fine
I'm sending audio from the TV to my vintage Pioneer receiver, and it works just fine. Optical cable from the TV to this converter, then RCA cables to the receiver.
