Does what it should. Plenty sharp, splits firewood easily. Not a cheap pos that you will regret, will do the trick and well. Handle is light, balance is good. It’s an axe.

Good hatchet, especially for cutting kindling. It does need some sharpening.

Great little tool for splitting kindlinAs campers you are usually not allowed to bring your own wood to campgrounds. They provide you with big pieces of wood but no kindling. They do not allow you to touch there sticks to start a fire. Well what to do? Take your trusty hatchet and split some pieces off that big piece of wood to start your fire. It comes in a really nice case that provides protection against accidentally cutting yourself and is easy to open.

I bought this hatchet for my recent camping trip as I wanted something compact, light weight and sharp. I was not disappointed. I was able to easily cut branches and small logs for my campfires with thanks to the comfortable grip, sturdiness and sharpness of the blade. It also came in handy when setting up the tent to pound the tent pegs. It’s small enough to fit comfortably in my backpack, which is a bonus. Got this for occasional use to help chop up fallen tree branches after a storm. The item is lightweight and a decent feel in the hand. May be a little slick if using in wet areas. Slight vibration is felt on some of the thicker branches. Not very sharp but seems to cut fairly well for its size and weight. Should work fine for smaller to medium jobs.

Excellent hatchet and value! Splits wood very well as well as limbs. Only recommendation that I have would be to possibly have it in a sheath that you can wear on your belt.

The hatchet is well balanced, feels good in the hand, and meets my needs perfectly. The head protection is a nice little unit and the handle makes it easy and comfortable to carry around when needed. I recommend it.
