Yum! A little goes a long way!
So tonight, I tried this in my chicken with cashew nuts dish and it was very very yummy! I’ll freeze it in small portions in an ice cube tray for easy dispensing in future. The sauce is very thick and paste like and incredibly salty so you need a small amount… I thought I’d post my final recipe which I really loved -served three of us :(Set 1)2 chicken breasts cut in small chunks1 egg white (I used the yolk in the fried rice)2 tbsp potato starch (or cornflour)1 tbsp shaoxing wine1tsp light soy sauce(Set 2)3 spring onions chopped1 tin water chestnuts - drained1 tin bamboo shoots - drained2 level tbsp yellow bean sauce(Set 3)2 level tbsp honey50 ml cold water1 tsp potato starch (or cornflour)1 tbsp shaoxing wine…Plus 50g toasted cashew nutsA wok!!!Take 1st set of ingredients and mix together well to coats chicken and set aside for 5 mins. When fully combined and coated, deep fry in batches in the wok in 100ml medium hot oil till golden and crisp. Keep each piece of chicken separate.Drain into kitchen paper and remove all but 2 tbsp of the oil from the wok.Get wok back to medium hot. Add the spring onions, stir well then add yellow bean paste and stir again before adding the veg.Add chicken back to wok. Give it a good a mix to coat and then mix all ingredients from set 3 together well and pour into wok. This creates a sauce which you continue to cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring constantlly. When piping hot and sauce is thick and coats everything, Sserve with rice and topped with toasted cashew nuts.I hope you like it if you try it… if you like a lot of salt you could try a touch more paste but I found a small amount worked better for our taste.

Price & flavour taste great
I only needed 2 tablespoons of this in my recipe. Tasted great . Froze the rest in little pots & use it for stir fries. Would buy this again

I think we may be srupid
Bought this as wanted to create chicken and cashew nuts like a takeaway. Tasted it and it was absolutely awful. Reading other reviews it seems it's because we used it like a cook-in sauce ie the whole tin. Seems we should have used a couple of desert spoons full. Doesn't give you any idea on the tin though so given all the great reviews here can only deduce it's our stupidity so felt it unfair to give low stars in a review. Only posting this to alert you if you were inclined to do the same as us. 4 stars mainly because the tin could have a sample recipe or some guidance on it.

Tasty
I use Yellow bean sauce when I'm cooking a Chinese dish: Pork in Yellow Bean sauce. I transfer the contents of the tin to a jar and keep the remaining sauce in the fridge.
