I used the tape because the factory screws are too short and the product didn't came with additional screws. I was driving with the cellphone mounted and the whole system came off because the tape wasn't strong strong enough to support the weight of the phone. Need to get longer screws that fit.

Mounts easy and solid. The cradle part that holds the phone is spring loaded. This spring is STRONG.It is actually hard to get the phone out. You need to use two hands to get it out.I used the phone cradle I had already and put In this mount. Works great now.Certainly need to change out the cradle if you buy this.

Another Chinese product that is more focused on production rather than quality. The tabs you screw down are not angled down to fit in the holes, which is needed to mount. If you bend them down, it can or will break.

This dash mount put up a very respectable showing compared to the well-known name brand mount that it is imitating. Install was easy enough and it looks high end, but I ended up uninstalling it after about a week because the aluminum base is just too thin to prevent major movement of a phone once you get off a paved road. I was hoping to make it work and even swapped out the cheapo nuts and bolts with proper ones but the weakness in the base just could not be overcome. It's too bad too because this mount really looked nice and it fit in the tray of my Ram 2500 perfectly. This would serve well for anyone that is not doing anything off a paved road but for anyone else, I suggest that you look elsewhere.

It is very difficult to remove phone from aluminum holder, otherwise the item would have been great.
