Detailed, well written, and everything romance🤌
If you enjoy a book that is detailed in every way, with an apt amount of romance, drama, sadness, guilt... Basically all those choicest emotions that makes us human, then this book is for you.I love it when the plot proves me wrong. When I started reading I was sure I wouldn't forgive him, I was hurt on behalf of Talia, but I am a changed person now. I forgive him, and have fallen in love just like Talia.Absolutely love the writting style, the family bond that it portrayed and pretty much all the characters.

Different and unique
Book review- GARNET FLATSAuthor- Devney PerryBook 3- The Eden’sTropes- small town romance, second chance romance, grovelling, Sports romance, single dad, SportsplayerXDoctorRating- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Trigger warning- mentions of blackmail and deathSpoiler ahead- NO CHEATING!!Plot:Talia Eden, a pre-med student was in love with Foster Madden, budding Middle weight champion for 1 year, 2 months and 11 days. That changed when he came and told her that he was in love with her best friend Vivienne and was marrying her. She also happened to be his mentor, Arlo’s daughter. Talia left LA with her broken heart, never to look back.7 years later, she’s now a resident doctor at Quincy Memorial Hospital at home Quincy. Engrossed in her hectic schedule- home to hospital, hospital to home, she never bothered to date. Nobody could top him. Life at the hospital was also crazy. The problem of a small town and on top of that, hailing from the founding family- everyone knew you since childhood. They still saw her as Talia, never Dr.Eden. Everyone called her by her name, never “Dr.”. The biggest pain, the head nurse hated her, always criticising and berating her.Foster Madden had carved himself a big name as The Reigning Middle Weight Champion. He and Vivienne had a 6 year old daughter- Kadence. And he was freshly divorced, single and relocating his whole life to Quincy, back to win Talia. Vivienne and Kadence were also relocating.Apparently, there was a lot that what met the eye, which marked Talia, Foster and Vivienne the victims. Arlo had a whole dark personality hidden, striking when time came. Foster, in his bid for extra money and luxury participated in underground fixed matches, which were illegal. He wanted the rich life, having come form a tough background and knowing Talia came from a well off family, thus letting his insecurities flare up. Arlo knew about them. He knew everything about the underground matches. When Vivienne got pregnant and the father was of really bad company, fearing the safety of her child, she told Arlo. He blackmailed Foster and Vivienne to marry each other or else everyone they loved would be hurt. With no choice, they broke Talia’s heart and became each other’s cell mate. 7 years later, when Arlo died, they got their freedom, and they end up in Quincy, to set things right. The glitch- Talia was broken to the core 7 years back. The anger and frustration was still ebbing inside her, having never shared it with anyone. She was a reserved person, Foster being the only person to bring them out. Foster’s arrival and the negative emotions related to work broke the dam blocking her emotions. Foster knew that wining Talia back would be a challenge. It was a lot more intense when he reached Quincy. It would take A LOT to make things right.Garnet Flats was a place on the Eden Ranch which was Talia’s favourite place. She once dreamt to build her house on that land, and live with her future family, with Foster. That dream broke 7 years back and now Foster was back to convince her that that dream is very much going to happen. The question is- does he win the match?Opinion:The reader can make out, can feel the amount of thoughts the Author has put behind every line, every chapter of this book. Because writing a book of these tropes and with this core plot is a CHALLENGE!!!Kudos!!!The Edens series has been one of my top favourites, every book being different and unique. You fall in love with the town and characters.I related to Talia in many ways like we both are doctors and reserved but open with our closest ones. I wanted to transport into the book and hug her because I felt her. She’s a Daddy’s girl alright. The betrayal she got in LA by both her best friend and boyfriend was one of the worst. So, her anger, wrath, cold treatment and insecurities are fully justified. But I’m super glad she got her HEA.Foster Madden justified his title, be it in the ring, be it real life. You can’t blame Foster for why he lied when you read what really happened. You can’t really blame him and Vivienne. Yes, illegal fights were wrong but his childhood and insecurities played the role. I was super glad when I read Arlo died because it made them, the three of them free.Something to learn from him- determination is a must to achieve your goals, without it, all your efforts will crumble. Also something to learn from their relationship- if it’s meant for you, it is yours. It will happen, even if a detour is required. They had to start from scratch, which was not easy, and here they are at the end of the book, building their dream life on Garnet Flats.Things take time, patience and determination are the keys. Foster gave time to Talia to heal because she had never healed from her heart brake. Not always does the situation need straight dive in action.I just really hope that someday in the future, we get a novella on Vivienne getting her HEA, she also deserves it. I really felt bad for the bad situation and luck she went through.Overall, this book, this entire series is a must read!!! Its different and fresh.

4.5 stars!
This book was heartbreaking, angsty and a tear-jearker but it also portrayed true love. While I was quite put off by the blurb, I was still intrigued to see how would Talia deal with Foster coming back in town so I had to read this book. I have to admit that I loved Talia more than Foster though. The romance was solid and I liked Foster better when everything that was a mystery about his past was cleared. Talia & Foster's relationship was a delight to read, the way they knew each other and lifted each other up was heartwarming. I also loved Talia's relationship with each of her siblings and it was so much fun seeing the Eden clan again! Devney's writing always has depth and lots of emotions which sweep me into the world that her characters are living in. The plot was nothing different but the way the story was told made it unique and enjoyable. Overall, it was a satisfying read and I loved the bonus epilogue but I'm so excited for Jasper & Eloise's story that's coming up next!

Purrr we loved! 💅🏼
Garnet Flats is book 3 in the Eden’s by Devney Perry and while each book is a standalone about a different couple you still see old friends from prior books! This is a slow burn, second chance love story between Foster and Talia. Devney Perry can, somehow, make me fall for the unforgivable. I honestly do not know how she does it. I mean, Foster has done things in his past and hurt Talia more than any woman deserves. I really appreciate how slow burn this romance was. If Talia had just forgiven and forgotten so quickly, I wouldn't have respected her like I did. She really made Foster work for it.I think Devney Perry really gives us one of our worst nightmares here... could you even imagine being head over heels in love and your boyfriend and he leaves you to marry your best friend!?! And then, you try to move on and build your life better and stronger then before…until he shows up in your life again and is determined to win you back.Secrets, lies, second chances, steamy, twists, turns, emotional, chemistry and so much more I honestly expected to dislike Foster from the start and never forgive him. But Perry always has a story for us and makes us question our preconceived notions. I go in thinking one way, adamantly, and she has me changing my mind. I can see why Talia wasn't able to hold out. Foster came prepared to bare his heart and soul. He was determined and wasn't leaving without Talia's heart. And this did not disappoint!
