WHAT IS IT FOR? Opening the hatch on a modern smartphone to insert or remove the SIM card and Memory card. You got a pin with your phone so you could set it up, but have probably lost it by the time you need it again... The manufacturer suggests you might also use them to remove pins from certain types of watch strap, to adjust the length. Hmm. IN THE BAG * Two flat SIM pins * Two pins with "screwdriver" handles USING Most smartphones (outside the USA) use removable SIMs and memory cards. These used to be installed (and removed) by cracking open the phone case and removing the battery, revealing tiny little sockets buried in the guts of the phone. A while back phone manufacturers decided that they didn't want customers opening the case or replacing the battery, and made the case completely sealed. Modern smartphones have little trays that pop out for you to insert or remove SIMs and memory cards; these are flush with the edge of the case (behind a hatch), only pop out when you insert a magic pin through the adjacent tiny hole. You should still have the pin that came with your phone, but if you're reading this you probably don't! In principle, you could use any pin lying around, a piece of stiff wire, or a straightened-out paperclip - but none of these ad hoc magic pins seem to work reliably for me. So do these magic pins from AYWFE work? Of course they do. The only thing to watch out for is that you insert the pin in the correct hole; you may have other holes that looks very similar! The eject hole will either be in the hatch or right next to it. If in doubt, read your phone's user guide... I also tried removing pins from my Pulsar's stainless steel watchstrap. The pins with the handles worked much better for this, as you need to push down HARD. Actually, this was a lot easier than my usual tool (a mapping pin) so will come in handy again some day. BEST BITS - There are four pins for you to share, lose, hide, attach to lanyards... - They work - so much better than ad hoc pins WORST BITS - You'll probably only use them once or twice a year CONCLUSION Simple and effective tools for ejecting SIM trays and adjusting watchstraps. Five stars.
