Outstanding light I never knew I needed.
This light works great for our camper, we use it for outside lighting as well as an indoor lamp. Battery seems to last awhile.

Great little gadget
Purchased this light for my boyfriend who is a gadget-guy. He absolutely loved it. Well made with quality material. The light has multiple settings from softer light for more of an ambiance to very bright cooler light to illuminate an enture area. When it's not in use, it compacts down to about a medium flashlight size.

Expensive, but nice light to have for camping for me
I'm a bit of a LED light geek. This one appealed to me with the multi-use benefits with a loop to hang, magnetic to attach to metal and the tripod. The telescopic portion of the light seems pretty robust. I also went ahead and ordered a case from a third party on Amazon to keep all the parts together. The differant brightness level and light temperature color (there are two) are a nice benefit also.

#1 camping light.
Best camping light, ever. I ditched my 4 smaller camp lights for this one. It does it all as far as lighting goes. It is what it claims to be. Battery last a long time, but slowly discharges itself over time so be aware of that. I wait to charge it until right before adventure time. Get it, its totally worth the money. Got mine on sale thru amazon for $118.00.

Great design
I'm impressed, build quality is really high and the design is just phenomenal, hopefully the battery life is good but so far it's pretty awesome. It's a bit on the heavier side, so not sure how viable it is for backpacking/hiking use, but I'll be using this for camping so it's perfect.

Going Camping With A Miniaturized Job Site Light
This is really a clever design. Basically, advancements in LED and battery technology now mean that you can have something that works more like a good-sized construction job site light than a flashlight or even a camping lantern, in a package that folds down so compactly that it can fit in a tool bag or even a backpack. In operation, it really does feel a bit like something out of a science fiction movie, because something that performs like this is normally supposed to be a lot larger, it just kind of resets your expectations of what is possible.Inside, point it up at the ceiling and it is like one of those big old torchiere lamps that lights up the whole room with indirect light, point it at a wall and now you have a good, wide-area work light, then close it up and point it straight down and now it becomes a small table lamp for sitting around the picnic table at a campsite or in a power outage. The magnetic feet mean you could stick it on your vehicle, etc. so there are an almost unlimited number of ways you could use this thing. It is too big and too awkward to be a flashlight, although you could use it as one in a pinch. The main limitation on using this thing is that you never want to look directly at the light itself or have the bare bulb directly in your line of site. Even on low, it is putting out enough light that looking directly at it is unpleasant. So it is really for indirect lighting only.It seems pretty well-built and solid. The tripod feet and the body containing the battery are plastic, but the expanding pole is metal, along with the head that contains the LEDs. It comes with stakes to hold it to the ground in windy conditions, and it should be able to handle at least light rain.I think it is primarily supposed to be used for camping, power-outages and stuff like that. But it feels like a kind of miniaturized job site light and I expect a lot of people are thinking about using it that way. For a simple camping light it is pretty expensive, but in comparison to a traditional job site light, particularly one that is battery powered, it is a relative bargain.I think the answer on using it as a job site light is maybe, basically depending on how roughly you want to treat it.I don't worry much about it surviving in the tool bag, it seems rugged enough when folded up and you can fold the emitter side in during transport to keep it from getting scratched or broken. On the other hand, I don't think I'd want it to get covered with plaster dust when it is opened up and in operation. The telescope mechanism, the little expanding tripod feet etc. probably won't cope with getting completely covered with dust and sand particularly well. So it is probably not for truly rough service, it isn't going to replace your wobble light or anything like that. There is no dust cover on the power switch, although the charge ports are at least covered with a rubber grommet. So yes, it can be a job site light if you are willing to baby it a bit, but it is not really designed to get truly abused.Overall, I like it, and I expect most people who buy this thing will like everything about it except for the high purchase price.
