One negative compared to others
In terms of quality this is an excellent gas spring wall mount. It works very well and is clearly well made. I have no doubt that it will hold up well and I trust it completely to hold up my very expensive ultrawide gaming monitor. It is also fairly easy to mount. This is probably the best of all mounting options. It is a small oval plate that you screw into the wall (make sure you screw it into a STUD) and then the arm hooks onto the plate and you secure it on with a set screw. It can be annoying if the arm isn't fully seated on the back plate because when you tighten the set screw it will actually force the arm off the plate rather than on, you just have to be aware of that and make sure you are pushing the arm onto the back plate as you tighten the set screw. But overall it is quite easy to mount - one person can do it without help, even with the monitor attached to the arm.The cable routing accessories are a very nice touch although I would say kind of unnecessary. They do allow the cables to be easily routed along the arm so they drop down against the wall rather than right behind the monitor screen. But there are other ways to accomplish this and hiding them isn't really necessary since they are behind the monitor anyway. My only issue with this is the length. I am referring specifically to the total extension length out from the wall. In summary it is shorter than pretty much any other gas mounting arm like this. Make sure you take that into consideration before you buy this. Its not necessarily a fault of this unit which is why I didn't dock a star. But they could make it a little longer. Make sure you pay attention to total extension length, verify that it will be sufficient for you, and compare it to others. Most of the other competitors give you more extension length, including the Amazon Basics one. When I purchased this I didn't really know how much length I needed. Now I wish I had about 4 more inches. O well.

Superb cable management, be sure to clamp that sucker down!
I've been using this for a month now (the single-monitor arm, desk-mounted). It's very good, high quality parts, and the cable management is (mostly) able to handle the ludicrous number of fat cables going to and from my ancient Dell monitor (the Dell FPW2005, which the company's site says does NOT work with my monitor--but it does). I have power, DVI, D-sub, and 2 usb cables(the monitor has a 4 port hub built in, so one goes to the computer, the other is just an extension cord to keep a cable from dangling from the bottom of the monitor to my phone.I've had to tighten the clamp to my desk once, after it began to twist off, and since then, I've avoided extending the monitor arm completely straight. When I do though, I make sure to bend the arm at its middle joint before pushing the monitor back toward the back edge of the desk. Honestly, if this arm came with a way to clamp through the desk (instead of to the back edge of it), I'd gladly drill a hole through my desk to make sure it was less likely to do that. But after tightening it, and avoiding pushing back when the arm was completely straight, I think I'm good to go.Overall, the only bad thing to say about it is the label on the arm where you adjust the vertical tension seems backwards. I rotated it in the "-" (minus) direction to make it stiffer (my monitor is pretty heavy), when I would think that a minus sign means "loosen"/"make it less stiff". The instructions didn't actually say what + and - meant, so I struggled a bit as I kept reducing the tension on the arm. But once tightened, even at full extension, my heavy old monitor stays put where I place it, and it's pretty easy to adjust.

Wall mount that can hit the wall
I don't know if it is a common feature or necessary part of the design, but the range of motion means the arm can swing directly into the wall it is mounted to. Like, the first link when you try to collapse it into the compact form. I actually intend to put up with it because it's not that bad and I know what kind of adventure it would be to find exactly what I want. I would give a much worse rating if I knew there was another gas spring 2-linked mount that lifts up to 25 lbs with only a 100x100 vesa mount, long extension and a 180 degree spinning range of motion.Another review says to mount it as low as you would want it when it is collapsed because it can't go lower in that position. I did that, and it is true, however, it does mean you miss out on half of the height adjustment. It is capable of going up 6.5" and it would go down 6.5" if there weren't a desk there. My advice is to actually put it as high as you'd feasibly want it all the time in the collapsed position. you can pull it out a few inches to bring it down and then it will still go way up high for your home theater and sit-to-stand purposes. You could put it even higher and tilt it down. The construction is solid. Installation is easy if you've ever mounted to studs before. You mount a plate, hang the arm and screw a retaining screw on the bottom. The vesa mount lets you hang it on the top two screws to get started mounting the screen. Then you adjust the gas spring tension and possibly vesa plate spin/swivel tension, which could mean taking the monitor off one extra time because it is behind the plate. The back of the panel will also contact the arm, but that seems more unavoidable design-wise than bopping the wall. It's also less likely because of...uh... trigonometry. I'll probably put some adhesive felt on the contact points. You could also put something solid on the wall to block it if you want to violently adjust your screen. I doubt there are other arms without similar issues, but if there are, you should get them. It seems like it would be easy to limit the range of motion on the first link of the arm.

Good purchase.
Need a Benq adapter to use this arm, but! Would buy just the manuals just for the read! Solid product, solid instructions and solid humour from the folks at Echogear. Makes possibly frustrating installs much easier. Look forward to using the arm to clean up my desk.Edit:Got the adapter and followed the manual, arm works a treat. Thought the monitor plus adapter might be too heavy, but a few adjustments and perfect. Again calling out the manual, made my day. Not even tempted to double up for a wrap around display... Nope not gonna. Probably.

Good heavy duty product
We installed the TV mount after having to order a 200 X 200 mount adapter since no extra plates to adapt this mount to our new TV/monitor were included. So be prepared for that. Only $15 more dollars from Husky but the Echogear mount would have been useless without it. Also, when attaching the wall plate with the lag bolts to support the mount itself, do not over-tighten the bottom lag bolt because if the plate doesn't have some "breathing room" at the bottom, the screw that you tighten with an allen wrench, upward into the wall plate will not allow the screw to pass if the plate is tight against the wall. Other than that, we're quite pleased with its range of motion of the finished product now that it and the TV monitor are on the wall.

Very sturdy and good range of motion
I'm very happy with this mount. It is sturdy, easy to install and has a good range of motion.

Works perfectly, really low profile against the wall.
This is the best I've seen for keeping the monitor close to the wall but also manoeuvrable to a great degree. The arm disappears behind the monitor if you place it right when you install it - if you install it plumb but slightly left of centre - you'll be able to get the monitor pretty close to the wall when it's all the way back.Love it. Bought two - one for my monitor and one for my son's monitor - but had to buy them separately for some stupid reason - amazon's fault I guess.
