Test Kitchen fav and mine too
I purchased two to replace some restaurant supply store gloves I bought that were no better than discount store gloves. Split and burned through. I find these gloves (had them a little while now) have both pluses and minuses. On the minus side:Sometimes I find that they are a little bulky when removing a pan from the oven. In order to get a good grip on the pan, if using just one glove, I have had the thumb extend into the bake area and touch the baked item causing marring of the bake goods. I don't feel I have the smallest of hands, but, from my experience, I think if you have small hands you may have some "excess" glove sticking out above the where you thumb and finger tips are that may be a little cumbersome.Sometimes the liner seems a bit twisted/bunched from previous wear, but that is being picky as straightens once you have your hand in.Not the prettiest thing to look at (for those that have their gloves stored in the open for quick use etc.).Guess the above list is a bit picky, but just my experiences.Plus side:The vast majority is a plus so far. Not had any issues with heat transfer to my hands. 550 degree broil pan out of the oven no problem and did not have to rush to find a spot for it.Clean really easily under the tap.Grip on heavy pans and trays is really good and the silicone makes it so that they don't slide and twist around like a standard cloth type glove can allow.Really impressed with them so far. Can't comment on longevity as yet. Had them a while, used them quite a bit and they still look new, but unsure how they will hold up after years of use. I guess they can age and come apart eventually, but at present the feeling is that unless you cut them or something they are going to last a good while.Hope that helps!

Saved my hand, and possibly my house.
You're looking to buy an oven mitt, or else why would you be reading this review? You should look no further. THIS is the oven mitt you need. Tonight, as I write this, the upper half of my right arm is burned, but my hand and wrist are completely fine. I had a grease fire tonight, with a wok that went up in 3 to 5 foot flames. The whole wok, in flames, reaching above my range, to the over-the-range microwave, and even just above that. And about 18" wide. I forgot I was heating oil, and heard the crackling from the next room. I write this regardless of the dozens of comments this post may get about what you SHOULD do in a grease fire, and how silly it was to forget I was cooking. I admit, this was not my finest day. But, when I discovered the flames, and that my entire kitchen may catch on fire, and knowing I didn't have a fire extinguisher -- I put on my oven mitt (this one) and grabbed the wok, which was COMPLETELY ON FIRE, and held it for approximately 2 seconds while I transported it from range to sink where I doused it under water. What happened next was lucky -- the fire went out, and after all the smoke alarms went off, and then silenced, I realized my arm was burnt, though not badly, but probably 1st degree burns. My hand, however, was completely fine -- like on any other day. You can actually see a line from where the oven mitt left off and where the burn starts. And crazy enough, I never even felt the heat through the mitt as I picked up the wok. The oven mitt that saved my hand and possibly my house: COMPLETELY FINE. I expected it to be melted, or something! But no, you'd never know it had happened. If this happens to you, and you never really know what's going to happen in the future and if you'll have a kitchen fire and need to react extremely quickly -- you will be singing the praises along with me. This was, without a doubt, and I mean... absolutely... the BEST purchase I've ever made in my life.So you've found your oven mitt. Now, you need to add it to your cart. And while you're doing that, make sure you add 2, because this is only ONE mitt. It's worth the price. Trust me.

These mitts are excellent. Good grip
These mitts are excellent. Good grip, the insulating terry cloth liner does a good job of keeping the heat out even when damp, the liner is removable and washable, the silicone mitts are easy to clean and they stand up to high temps (500+F). We tried another pair of silicone gloves before these mitts and they were problematic. I won't go into it, but if we had started with these mitts instead of those poor-performing gloves we may not know exactly how great these mitts stack up to the competition.

Great Oven Mits
Great oven mits. They're flexible for a secure, comfortable grip, handle heat very well, and clean easily. If the mits were a little longer to protect the forearms, would have given 5 star rating

Too short and akward to use
Keeps heat out but award to use and too short.

Best Oven Mitts I Have Tried
I purchased one of these mitts from a store, and I loved it. I wanted another one but when I returned to the store, they were sold out. I was relieved to find out Amazon carried them, and I quickly ordered the mitt. These mitts are durable. I have owned my original one for over a year. My family and I cook almost every night of the week, so we have definitely put this mitt to the test. It has held up perfectly. The silicone shell has not warped or burned like other mitts we have tried. I appreciate the soft inner lining. I also like that the lining can be removed from the silicone shell so that both may be cleaned properly. I will continue to use these mitts for as long as this company manufactures them. I plan on gifting them to all my family and close friends.

Great Oven Mitt
Many years ago, my mother bought one of the first Orka mitts on the market. It was the best oven mitt I had ever seen. The hands were grippy, cool, and easy to clean. It was, however, about twice as thick as the OrkaPlus, without a lining, and fairly stiff. The OrkaPlus has improved on the original Orka in just about every way: it's comfortable, flexible, easy to use, and safe to handle extremely cookware. If you haven't tried one yet, do it. You won't regret it.
