Fits and works perfectly for Traxxas. Strong and fast!
You can’t go wrong with this servo! It fits perfectly in both my Traxxas Stampede 4x4 VXL and my Traxxas TRX-4 Land Rover Defender. The speed and power difference over the stock servos is night and day. So much faster and stronger. I love it!When I first saw this servo I was amazed at the specs as well as the low price. I had been considering other brands like Savox for quite a while, but those $80 to $100 price tags were holding me back. I’m glad I finally took the chance on the FS-25W. I tried it first on the Stampede and it worked out amazingly well. No modifications were needed. Just dropped it in and was back to bashing! Now I have 2 of these servos for less than the price of 1 Savox! Definitely worth the money.

Great metal gear servo for the price
I have purchased quite a few servos and this is probably the most complete in terms of an entire performance package for this price point. It is not as tall as a lot of high torque servos so it does package well. Speed is quite good (not as fast as stated speed but still more than quick enough). Torque is good for my buggy/truck applications. Centering performance is excellent. The coreless motor really shines here in comparison with a lot of high torque core motor servos. This is much higher performance than most of the $14-$20 options; the cost/value trade off is warranted.

FS-25 Fan Model servo had 1 issue. However, FanModel cares and is customer oriented.
This servo has great specs and by design appears strong with all steel gears and one center brass gear. There is plenty of Moly black grease. See my photos attached. This servo worked as described with adequate power on my AXIAL SCX10 2 Crawler for ONLY 2 battery runs!!!However, upon inspection after initial failure, it was clear that the drive side cover's O-Ring seal was not installed correctly. This O-Ring was within the Gear housing and got mangled by the Gear train causing binding and thus locked up. To compund this, the electronics overheated and is not salvageable by merely replacing with a NEW O-Ring. And, being a waterproof servo as described, it clearly would have failed if used in a wet environment, because this O-Ring was not in its proper position. If you purchase this servo, I HIGHLY reccommend you disassemble it and observe that BOTH upper and lower o-rings are in there proper respective placement BEFORE installing. Make sure lubricant is in place at the gear mesh also.I did not! most people don't do this. But, I will in the future. Brand name servos don't require this attention to detail before installing. But it is preventative for any failures in Cheap generic Servos of this type. Quite honestly, I would chance another for replacement if I would not have to pay $2.00 more with the current price. For this inconvenience, I really can't see paying the extra change to TRY one more. I will see how this seller repsonds, and will update this review accordingly.Other reviews show this servo to be bad or good. Obviously Quality Control is the problem here. Again, if you buy one, make sure you dissassemble before installing and make sure it is built correctly with the O-ring in place. You may just prevent a failure and end up with a good FS-25 servo. I gave two STARS, because the potential for a strong working servo is there. But a simple mistake like installing the O-ring Improperly caused this Failure.Update:Fan Model Customer service is fantastic. More sellers should be like them. They sent me a replacement (same 25kg version) which I examined very closely and they acknowledged the issues I pointed out in my photos. Issues aside, these are great powerful servos for the price, they perform as advertised if you get a good one. Quality control is being addressed. Fan model takes pride in their servos. Emails with them are very prompt. These are great servo options in the RC Hobby, if you are unable to spend $100+ on a Savox, Futaba, Tekin, or Hitec with similar specifications. I have the High end stuff. And sometimes you get a bad one. Even a recently purchased Savox sw-1210sg is giving me issues as of late. This Savox is much noisier with a slower "return-to-center' response time than this FanModel 25kg I have. I feel that the FanModel FS-25W (Coreless)is more efficient power wise than my Savox. I have corresponded with Savox USA customer service in the past, and Savox support is hard to deal with at times. Fan Model Customer service offers a more prompt and personable experience by contrast. Thus, I upgraded this FanModel FS-25W servo from 2 to 4 stars.Update: June25,2019I have been using the 25KG Fan model Variant. I have 5 altogether. Indeed I received one defective servos early on. And Fanmodel's Customer service is incredible. They replaced the defective one. And upon examination of the internals , it is clear that Fan model has tweaked their design. They are detail oriented regarding their servos. and like feedback. If you have any slightest issue, they will address it. Cant say that for the big guys like Savox, Hitec, etc. Been there done that at triple the price of this Fan model 25 Kg servo. Fan model is now my go to servo an I am a Fan boy. Use them in 5 of my rigs from scx10.2 to my Tekno MT, to three of my Arrma 6s rigs. Yes the 25KG Fan Model servo will work no issues on a 1/8 scale rig going 60+ MPH. That's at 6Volt/3amps BEC !Thanks again Fan Model.

Fast and powerful
Wow,I was not expecting this servo to work so well. The first one had holding issues but the second servo it very fast and tons of holding power without using a bec,i was going to add a bec and up the voltage to 7.4 but after bashing it with the esc putting out 6.3v is more than enough. This 1/8 Notorious is fun but the stock serves are slow and go out with in a few basic runs with no jumps.Im not sure if this servo is really water proof but I will find out in a couple days, rain is coming. But if it continues to hold up I'll buy more to replace all my stock servos and use on all new truck I buy from now on.So far I'm impressed, good price of this servo.

Excellent
I installed the servo in 1/10 scale monster truck. It has super torque and speed. Besides, it's noise is very small. The performance of waterproof is very well. Either how the digital servo was muddied by soil and covered by sand or it got wet. it still could run like a new servo. Excellent product.

Not as advertised.
This servo is not what I was looking for. As others have stated, looking for the closer total travel radius of 180 or close to it. These "FAN" guys are are saying you have to change the USEC from 1500 to 500. Huh? I just want to use the dang servo as a winch on my sailboat and yeah i need something close to 180 degrees travel. A degree in Hobby Electronics is not what I went to college for. If you cannot do 140 or 180 degrees total radius with EPA on the transmitter then dont advertise as such! Yeah, I have an Aurora 9 transmitter I get an additional 40 degrees right and the same left. Even with this maxxed out, it will not travel much more than 100 degrees total. Poo Poo "Fan Guys".Let me explain something, I have a Hitec programmer and I know how to use it. I can program a servo to travel 180 degrees or more, 90 degrees left and back to 0, then 90 degrees to the right. One thing you have to do, though, is lower the resolution from HIGH, to NORMAL before it will travel the distance. I believe this is what the FAN guys are talking about in their answered questions. Someone care to do a video tutorial for the rest of us boneheads? Please!I will be returning this servo and buying a new Hat for sailing. Fairwinds and Smooth Sailing.

Very good for the price. Very fast.
Very fast for the price. Used it in my 2WD rustler and it makes a world of difference.Edit: I did just want to add a quick thing. Since it is so fast, it’s somewhat susceptible to interference. I never noticed it while actually running the car but every couple minutes while it’s sitting on the bench I can hear the servo engage and see the wheels do a small little shimmy. It’s a pretty small thing so even if it happened while I was running it I doubt I would even notice.
