This is the best riding mower, and my experience has been absolutely fantastic. I started mowing my lawn (2.5 acres) to involve my kids, helping at home. I love how safe it is and reliable. Easy to clean, and the best part will be maintenance, minimum and very easy. The delivery was on time. Ego uses FedEx Freight Direct, to deliver the massive steel crate. The steel crate is kind of a pain to get rid of, but I am almost done breaking it into pieces that fit in my recycle bin. The charging cable came faulty, but Ego customer service helped me to register all my equipment and sent me a new replacement immediately. The process of installing the seat is quite straightforward, but I highly recommend reading the manual to prevent scratching the top of the mower beneath the seat. I didn’t read it and ended up making two significant scratches. While it’s not a major issue, I wish I had taken the time to read that section, it takes less than a minute. The charger is the best part, super fast, as well as the 6ah batteries. You can share all with other Ego products. I purchased also a walk-behind mower and the string trimmer.

This is the latest edition to my EGO collection of yard tools. I was hesitant due to the extra cost compared to traditional gas powered mowers, but as I researched, I realized that there is very little maintenance on these compared to gas. The battery life described in the product description "Up to 1.5 acres cutting time" is a bit misleading, and I can confirm this to be true. The tractor comes with (6) 6-amp batteries, but can use (6) 12-amp ones if you have them or want to purchase them separately which is a huge cost for a typical consumer. My yard is on a small slope and is roughly just over a half-acre and when I finish it is at about 30% charge remaining. I have tried different blade speeds and drive speeds, and I end with about the same charge each time. The difference is minimal, which can also be due to wet grass, or less thick of a cut. Care of the batteries is very important, and it is a bit of a chore to carry them all from the barn to the house to ensure they aren't damaged by moisture or colder temperatures. I wish there was an easier way to transport them, or a housing I could use to keep them in the barn without worrying about them not being protected. Charging is very easy, as this tractor comes with a charging pack and adapter to charge directly in the tractor without removing the batteries. You can also charge them individually with other EGO chargers from other equipment. The cut quality of this tractor is good, and the blade height control is very simple. One thing I do wish is that the blades do not run in reverse unless you hold down the reverse blade button for 5+ seconds. This resets if you get off the tractor for anything then you need to do it again, which is one of the safety features of the tractor. It cuts off when you get up from the seat. This is no zero turn, but it does turn pretty well. It took some getting used to my first time using it, but I have since figured out better patterns and routes to use to make my yard look great with this tractor. It's been a month and 4 or 5 cuts and so far I have enjoyed this lawn tractor. One last thing I want to add, is that the included quick-connect hose attachment to clean the deck makes cleanup after cutting a simple 2 minute task. I wanted to get a mower with this option, and I'm glad that came with that! The delivery of this tractor was amazing. One of the reasons I decided to purchase, is because SHIPPING WAS FREE with Amazon Prime! Other vendors wanted anywhere from $200-$400 to cover freight charges. So purchasing here on Amazon was the best option to save some money. Disassembly of the delivery cage and assembly of the tractor took a couple hours, but it was package extremely well. Be sure to take off the parking brake before trying to roll it off the crate. We'll see how this holds up over time, but for now, I am satisfied with this tractor and it fits my needs.

Unboxing lots of bolts to undo! 4 zip ties hold on the plastic have strong clipper to cut. Will need them to cut free the boxes. Undoing the frame will take some time. You will also need some wood to make a ramp off the bottom section. You also will want to open the batteries and get them charging so the are set to go as you finish up the set up. The seat, tool rack, and steering wheel all go on easy. Have an air pump for the tires. Will post a video and first test run tomorrow. But so far very satisfied with the quality and easy to assemble. Day 1 using T6 to mulch some leaves in the yard. Was able to cover my complete yard a few times and just drive around to see how long it would run. I ended the day at 20%. Over all happy with the power and ease of use. Was able to cut both in forward and reverse. Ride was smooth and the higher speed did use the power faster but in low I had no problems with the blade cutting up the leaves!

The last seven years or so I had two gas riding mowers. they both died the same way the frame split right at the transmission. So I wanted something different It took me two months to decide on this Ego. meanwhile, my grass kept growing. It was 14 inches tall about a quarter acre.it took all 90% of the battery life but I went over it six times just to get it down to normal but as soon as I get on top of things around here. It’s gonna be a good mower

This mower cuts grass beautifully, easy to drive, and has plenty of battery power to mow. I mow almost 3 acres and can do it with 15 to 18 percent power remaining. This is one impressive machine! no more gas, belts or being frustrated when it won't start like my old mower! Simply power on and go!

The amp4200 mulch plug DOES fit this. I called customer support and they couldn't answer that question. It's pretty quiet while the blades are on and silent while they're off. The batteries charge quickly and we're able to mow about a half acre using approx 50% of the battery with the mulch plug in place. It's speedy and has a much tighter turn radius than our old 42" lawn tractor. Edit: I saw an other review saying it didn't work on a slope but we are able to mow our ditches just like we did on our old lawn tractor so we haven't experienced that issue.
