AWS IoT With Edge ML and Cybersecurity: A Hands-On Approach

Generally I don’t write reviews for book, only if a book is outstanding 5stars and I have learnt more from the book when I started reading. Boy this book didn’t disappoint. I learnt about deep impact of IOT, deep impact of cybersecurity and how an average IT person can pick up this book and develop a product and test a product with guidance on AWS cloud was perfect, author gave a lot of code samples (which works unlike other book) and stuck with a lot of screenshots which doesn’t leave anything for imagination and it’s a truly hands on approach. Will be sharing with my team to purchase few copies for our company as these topics are such in demand at present.

Während ich für Audi als Auftragnehmer ohne IOT-Kenntnisse, aber mit reichlich AWS-Kenntnissen arbeite, habe ich die Aufgabe, IOT-Geräte mit AWS zu verbinden und zu bauen. Ich fand, dass dieses Buch sehr detailliert ist und mich von praktischen Schritten bis hin zu fortgeschrittenen Themen durchführt. Das habe ich Ich habe viel aus diesem Buch gelernt, insbesondere JITP und JITR, und wie ich dies auf intelligente Fertigung und vernetzte Automobile anwenden kann. Ich liebe die Architekturdiagramme, in denen ich AWS-Services klar erkennen kann und wie der Autor jedes Thema anhand dessen, was Sie am Ende gelernt haben, analysiert Thema und jedes Kapitel hat ein Architekturdiagramm, das mir eine klare Anleitung gibt, was ich bauen werde und welche Dienste ich brauche. Ich habe meinem Manager bereits empfohlen, einige davon für das Team zu kaufen. Die Kapitel zur Cybersicherheit und die realen Anwendungsfälle der Cybersicherheit mit AWS IOT haben mir sehr gut gefallen, kein Wunder, dass VP Vorwort sie gutheißt.

This book fills a very particular niche. Each chapter covers a different IoT service or OSS provided by AWS and is written around a simple tutorial for that feature. It gives a good, cohesive overview of what services AWS provides and each tutorial is easy to follow. Where it falls down is that there is a lot of filler, especially at the start of each chapter, explaining obvious concepts or made up use-cases for that particular service. In places there's unnecessary and over-the-top praise for how wonderful AWS is. That's easy to skip over but it gets annoying by the 10th chapter. What's more disappointing is there isn't enough discussion of what each service provides beyond what's in the tutorial or how to scale services to large numbers of devices (all of the tutorials involve manually configuring devices in the AWS console). I will definitely use the tutorials in the book as a handy reference but I wish the other half of the book was more useful.
