Great mower!
I’m a middle aged woman who is not into gardening! My lawn is very lumpy and bumpy with awful grass - I really need to pay someone to lay me a new one! I’ve used a variety of Flymo mowers over the years to cope with the uneven ground but it was getting harder and harder to drag even a hover mower over the grass. I decided a self-propelled petrol mower would be the way to go and went for this one after spending a while reading reviews. The electric start was the big selling point as I remember trying to use my dad’s petrol mower years ago and tugging on that string fruitlessly! The delivery was a bit early (7.30am in a Saturday morning but only 7am to 7pm delivery was free. Specifying a time was additional cash!)Definitely make sure you watch one of the many unboxing videos on YouTube, but to be honest, it was pretty easy to put together - although I didn’t bother with the rather pointless cup holder! Oil comes with it, but a trip to the petrol station to get some unleaded was needed. I have ordered what is supposed .to be superior Aspen 4 fuel, as apparently unleaded goes stale after a few weeks and causes starting problems. You do have to plug in the charger for the electric starter - recommended for 5 hours - so you can’t press the button and get mowing straight out of the box.I’d also read that the grass box was tricky to put on but I thought it wasn’t too bad. You do have to pat the flap to get it to clip onto the top of the grass box. This model has variable speed and for me, that was absolutely essential as my lumpy lawn was very overgrown. Even on the highest mowing height, it stalled a few times in the long grass. Being able to crank the speed to fast meant the engine raced and holding the drive bar had the lawnmower pulling on my arms like an over-eager Labrador in sight of the park! But that power meant I could mow my lawn easily - and it is kind of fun! This model has the hosepipe cleaning attachment but not having a hosepipe, I’ve not used it. I did try the mulch attachment instead of the grass box - if you want the cut grass to stay in place. Saves emptying the grass box I guess.Yes, the mower is pretty heavy, but for my first petrol mower, I love it. Easy start, nice shade of blue and so far, I’m not regretting the pretty steep price. Fingers crossed it works ok as I’ve read a few comments about issues with support. The paperwork has the three year guarantee all over the place.Do your research, watch the many great video guides and articles. The electric starter adds about £50 to the price of a similar pull start model so decide if you need it. For me, this was a good choice and I’m very happy with my Huyundai mower.

A brilliant machine at an unbelievable price.
The media could not be loaded. My 80 yr old Father in Law was in the market for a new mower, his aged Mountfield having given up the ghost. He did not know what to get (in fact he had bought a mower from a well known DIY outfit, but it was so useless he returned it), so I offered to help him with some research. Hayters and Hondas, which would have been on his dream list, were beyond what he wanted to pay. We also felt as a family that he really needed electric start. After a few minutes web browsing, I came across these Hyundai mowers - something I did not know they imported into the UK market. With their low price, I thought there would be a catch, but after reading many reviews across the web I saw they came out really well. I advised my Father in Law that this would be a good route to go and kept my fingers very crossed...One little gripe I had noticed from the reviews was assembly. This I can honestly say is a problem solved if you go to the Hyundai Power Products UK website and watch their excellent tutorial videos on assembly and servicing for this machine. The only thing I had to do was adjust the OPC cable. It took me less than half an hour from un-boxing to cutting; and I am no DIY expert! The lawnmower started immediatedly, no priming or other mucking about required, and it cut the grass beautifully. My father and mother in law find it very easy to manoeuvre and they really appreciate the large grass box.Speed is as fast as I would ever want a lawnmower to go in a medium sized garden. The machine is very nicely built, I really like the hose connector to wash it down after use and after looking at the online tutorials, it is also very simple to service. The battery charges under engine power as well as by the supplied charger, another bonus! This is a fantastic value for money machine and I could not recommend it strongly enough for those who would love a Hayter or Honda, but just do not want to afford one.The in laws love it, I am back in their good books - at least for the next little while :-)

Substantial Mower
This is quite a heavy machine. I found it easier to open the box on the ground and slice the box open at two of the corners on one end and wheel the mower out. You will find it sits on a fitted thick cardboard base, so it needed lifing slightly to wheel it off the packing.Very easy to assemble. If you experience difficulty there a plenty of instructional videos on YouTube, well worth a viewing. My mower battery was already fully charged. DON’T FORGET to put the oil in before cranking the engine over, the supplied bottle of oil was more than enough. Use fresh petrol in the tank. Mine did not have a manual primer on the carburettor. Put all the levers in the start/run position. Pull the run lever and push the red button. Mine fired up very easily and quickly.Use of the mower is easy. It is substantial and does a really good cut. The engine is powerful. I found the self propelled function was at a fairly fast walking speed. Sometimes it was easier to use without the self propelled element and pushing it was effective.I cut about 250 square meters of lawn first use, when I finished and plugged the battery charge cable in, it very quickly showed a full charge. So it looks like a charge goes a long was.I’ve had petrol mowers before and I can safely say it is the best and easiest to start mower I have ever used.Highly recommend..
