These lids do not fit BALL brand wide mouth jars - either with or without the silicone ring they come with. The circumference is correct however the threads do not match up.

I use a number of mason jars for assorted storage purposes but the standard two piece canning lids aren’t all that durable. They scratch easily and then rust.Much as I wish there was a non-rusting alternative lid, made from never rusting and 100% recyclable aluminum or even more-or-less-rust-free stainless steel, so far there aren't any such alternatives. So plastic is my only other choice.I’ve had lids similar to these from a couple of other sources which were ok but did not fit every jar. Some had to be wrestled with to get them to engage the jar threads and some only fit if I removed the gasket.These lids have fit every jar I’ve tried them on so far with their gaskets in place and twisted on very smoothly, no arguments.The only con is that some don’t twist as tightly as they should. They are probably not completely leak proof if used on jars with liquid contents. But that sometimes happens if a standard lid is loose so it’s not that big of a deal for me and I do mostly use them for dry storage.I have a suggestion for the manufacturer though.Please, instead of the rainbow of colours, either use fewer colours or better yet, let us CHOOSE the colour we want.At best one only gets 2 or 3 of any given colour. I would be thrilled to see them offered in all black, for an example and I would be equally thrilled if pink, oranges or light blues were not in the mix.For me, a row of jars out where they can be seen it looks so much nicer if the lids all match.I would happily buy these again if needed.

My hopes for these lids were that I could use them for ordinary wide mouth mason jars. However, upon trying them, three of the colours were far too tight to use with ease. I tried the other colours and they went on to various brands of widemouth bottles... 'ball', 'gem', and Bernardin and the problem was constant from the yellow, orange, and red lids. In fact, I literally had to borrow a jar-lid removal appliance that belongs to my mom to undo the orange lid.I'll be in touch with the seller to give them this feedback, but I was pretty put off by finding out that 9 out of 24 lids were unusable right out of the packaging.
