How easy it is to use. Intuitive function.
Works well and easy to use. Large buttons and text. Sound is clear and distinct and capable of being very loud if needed! Touch screen is a plus. I did not set it up so I have no idea about the difficulty. I have been using for less than a week and am getting used to typing and reading what is on the phone at the same time, a little bit of an awkward transition. Because of the very reasonable price, I was not expecting such a good product. Very pleased so far.

Mom can actually talk on the phone again.
This was the best thing I could have ever bought for my mother in law. She is so hard of hearing and deaf in one ear. She is in her 70’s, and is not to tech savvy, so texting on the phones wasn’t always an option. So we bought her this phone. It’s amazing. She can actually read the screen, it’s an easy set up, I can link my mils cell phone to the phone so she can recognize who is calling with their picture. The volume is so loud on the handset that it actually hurts my ears, but I am not hard of hearing. The speaker setting on the phone is also super loud. The texting on the screen is such a great feature. It is delayed by a few seconds. Nothing terrible, but it works well, and mom can keep up with the conversations.

Great phone!
My significant other was a victim of an assault & battery. He had brain surgery, spent weeks in rehab, he needed a second brain surgery, and rehab began all over again. He has gone through hell. However, he was able to come home just in time for Christmas! When he saw the gift of a new phone on his desk, his face lite up! At age 80, and while his brain is still healing, this phone has so many features that are going to be of such a help to him, that his old phone could not have been. Thank you, Hamilton, for making a great phone!

Finally!!
Notice you can use with VOIP, unlike systems seen on tv! Easy setup. Elderly parent will have to keep working to use, but it is very straightforward. Handset is very loud. The only issue is the contacts book. A little difficult to use sidebar to scroll through people. Often phone call will disconnect before she finds the person. If you are under 90, this will be less of an issue.

Worked right away, Grandpa happy!
I bought this phone for my dad who is 85 and hard of hearing. He called it life-changing. Not only is the voice to text fast and accurate, but it’s very easy to set up. I sent it to his house and was able to help him with the set up over FaceTime. He has a fast Internet connection and a VoIP phone line through the Internet provider. Works great and simple to set up to the Wi-Fi and a standard phone Jack splitter to his telephone modem so he can also keep his other phone from my mom He is able to talk to his doctors and he loves to screen the calls by looking at the text before he answers it (if he ever does). My only issue is with the microphone for the speakerphone. It doesn’t pick up his voice very well, but if he uses the handset, it sounds crystal clear Highly recommend

Very helpful in understanding a phone conversation
I have been wearing hearing aids for over 20 years. I have almost always had problems hearing when using the telephone with or without hearing aids. Recently I saw a commercial on TV that advertised a Free phone and caption service for anyone with a hearing loss. This "free service" is paid for by Federal Tax Dollars. When I asked my audiologist about this service she referred me to a company called CaptionCall. CaptionCall came to my home with a caption phone and after I provided personnel information, they set up the phone and explained the features. When I questioned this person about the requirements to use Caption phones, he explained to me that at one time the FCC required that a persons hearing loss be certified by a third party, he explained that is no longer the law. In fact, now a person must register the caption phone in the name of the person who is using the phone and that person must require caption service due to their hearing loss. In other words, while a third party is not required to certify a hearing loss, the user of the phone must still register the phone and certify that caption service is needed for that person to understand a phone call. I was also told by CaptionCall that if I ever stopped using the phone I had to contact them and they would send me a mailing label for me to return the phone, and on the bottom of their phone it specifically states it belongs to CaptionCall. After learning the above I decided to look and see if I could actually purchase and install my own phone, The Hamilton Captel 2400i is considered to be the best caption phone on the market. I purchased it and a few days later installed in completely unaided by anyone, in fact if you can read you can install this phone. This phone while offering the same services as the phone "loaned" to me, has a much better user interface panel which tosses out a lot of the guess work I had with the CaptionCall phone. I also learned that my old phone can still be attached to my phone line while using any caption phone. For me this was important because all the caption phones on the market have a wired handset, so you cannot walk away from the phone and continue the conversation. ( in this day and age why are they still using a wired handsets?) Anyway my old phone has a wireless handset and I can use it while roaming outside in the yard or within reason where ever I need to be while on the phone. This is also important because other household members cannot use the caption call phone unless the caption feature is turned off. I recommend anyone who has a hearing loss to get this phone, even if you received a free one from a government funded supplier, get this phone. No matter what caption phone you use, the caption phone service is still free. Remember you must have a landline connection, and high speed internet service that you would pay for anyway. The caption service is done over the internet, and yes this phone will connect wireless or using cat5 cable connected to your router/ phone modem. I am going to return the so-called free phone I was given. If I had know before hand that I could have purchased my own caption phone before taking a " free phone", I would have purchased this long ago.

No able to use in UK

The device's captioning feature is only operational in the United States and Australia. It is completely non-functional in Canada. This indicates the device is not intended for the Canadian market and, in my view, should not have been sold or listed on Amazon.ca.
