All you need in a sous machine!
I got this sous vide machine on the recommendation of a coworker. It is working very well so far! I have made the best pork chops I have ever made, delicious mini cheesecakes (courtesy of Alton Brown), and company-worthy mini pumpkin pies; I can't wait to try a roast for French Dip sandwiches! The temp control is very easy to set, as is the timer. I haven't had much use for the wifi yet, but maybe I will try that as some point. Also the app is very nice, but there aren't that many recipes on it. Not a problem though, as you can just Google a recipe for all things sous vide. (I also bought a Rubbermaid container with a matching hinged lid with a circular cutout where the sous vide machine sits.) I definitely recommend this machine to anyone looking for a sous vide machine at a reasonable price point. I'm debating whether to get another one so I can cook dinner and dessert at the same time! 😆

Best value for restaurant quality food at home!
I got this unit not knowing how I’d like it. I would say, it was THE BEST investment ever! This sous vide is wireless and can easily be controlled by the cellphone.I’ve used it a few times and the results were excellent! It was so easy to use! Never again will I have dried out meats or dried fish. Everything comes out juicy and restaurant quality at home!Simple to use+ excellent price + the extra warranty = years of deliciousness! What are you waiting for!?! This unit definitely works just as well as those priced x2 or x4 the amount. This pairs well with a vacuum bag sealer!

Original impression was horrible, but 2nd try was great! Cook's GREAT chicken breast!
Someone at work told me about this thing. They said it made great steaks. I'm a steak lover so I went right to Amazon and ordered one. The unit came in the very next day. I stopped on my way home and got me some steaks to cook with my new cooker.Took it out of the box, read the directions, tried to use the app is not very intuitive. I'm in the IT field and it took me a little while to figure it out. The only useful feature of the app was that it has a lookup for how long to cook your steak. My steak, medium, would take 1 hour and 30 minutes. That's a long time to wait for a steak!I had to go into my storage to find a pot big enough for the unit to clamp into safely. I filled the pot with water within the "MAX" and "MIN" markings on the unit. Plugged it in and set the time and temperature. The touch screen is not very reliable. The unit started going into preheat and churn the water in the pot. You could see the temperature go up. The target temperature for my steak was 135 degrees. The unit would get to 96, then the red glow under the play "button" would go white and the unit would stop warming the water. I'd press the play button again. The unit would "play" for a second and then shut back off. I looked at the direction booklet for some kind of troubleshooting, but the troubleshooting section only had four scenarios, none of which covered this situation.I googled the heck out of this issue, but found very few hits. I did find a couple of forum articles, but none of the had a resolution, only the complaint. After a while I went back and pressed the play button. It would start to churn again, but then quit at 120 degrees. The temperature would start to go back down. At that point I was back to the "press play, shut off" song and dance.I left it for a 20 minutes or so, then pressed play again, the unit finally got up to 135, my target temperature. Then the timer clicked on and it started counting down from 59 minutes even though I had set the unit for 1 hour, 30 minutes. After about 10 minutes the play button clicked off and the temperature started to go back down.I tried to vary several variables in an effort to get the unit to function properly. I varied the water from just above the "MIN" line to just under the "MAX" line. No luck. The unit clamps on the side of the pot so I tried to vary the dept into the pot it was clamped at. Not a lot of room to work with, but the it didn't seem to help anyhow.I did finally get the unit to cook my steak. It counted down from 59 minutes and finally reached 0. I reset it for 30 more minutes and it finally counted that setting down to 0. I took out the steak. It had been four hours since I started. It was okay. Didn't look very appetizing. Just play gray. The recipe I was following in the app said you have to sear the steak for about 30 seconds per side. I skipped that because it was largely cosmetic.Probably the most annoying thing about my experience with this unit was that my wife laughed at me the whole time. She had cooked her steak on the BBQ and it was in her tummy in less than 20 minutes. There's better, faster ways to cook a steak. Don't waste your money. Very disappointing!So...this just in. My first attempt at cooking (steak) with this thing was a total disaster. The next day I cooked some boneless chicken breast and it turned out GREAT. Seriously, tender, juicy, yummy. I don't know what was going on during my initial cooking effort, but I didn't have any problems with the chick breast. Still takes a while though. I'm gonna bump up my review rating now.

Excellent customer service!, Great food!
This unit precision cooks food for unbelievable flavor. I had to return one unit because of the bluetooth would not work at all. As soon as Chefman saw the return, they immediately worked to replace it and worked hard to keep me as a customer, so I must say their customer service is FIVE star as well as Amazon's return policy. The unit itself works well with bluetooth and wifi as long as you start with the app first (I am using Android). It even has recipes and recommends cooking times and temps for common items with a short wizard interface.I smoked some pork, then vacuum sealed it and froze it. Later I pulled i out and let it sous-vide overnight and it is truly Amazing! My wife suggested I quit my job and open a restaurant!Cheers,Steve

Great product for the price!
LOVE this sous vide. Bought one for my daughter, because I loved mine so much. We bought a huge package of boneless, skinless chicken breasts, and separated them in three different zip bags. One was seasoned with Greek, one with asada, and one with Tuscan. Cooked all three at once and each came out amazing. We used about 2 tablespoons of seasoning per bag and drizzled with a bit of olive oil. Once they were done, we grilled them and OMG they were delicious. The chicken was infused with flavor and super juicy (we cooked them on the “tender” setting). I have on occasion frozen what I have cooked in the sous vide and it thaws fine. Do make sure you get all of the air out of the bag so it doesn’t float. Also, if you’re going to do vegetables, it takes quite a while for the temp to get up to 183-185°.

Awesome so far. Only tried it a few times so far but results have been great. My wife made the best shrimp we have ever had. Barely any more from the circulation pump. Very easy to link to our phones. Chefman app send very good and controls are ready to use. Would definetly recommend this item.

Quality of food
Haven't used the bluetooth function yet but the quality of the food is outstanding. It does take longer than conventional cooking methods but everything tastes so much better, not to mention locking in all of the nutrients. Have some short ribs on right now that will soon be finished the 24 hour cook time. The temperature is consistent (+ or - about .2 degrees of the set temperatures. My favourite so far has to be corn on the cob.

Defective Unit, WiFi Signal
Very disappointed. I have a wi/fi router that does both 2.4ghz and 5.0ghz signal. I could not get this device to connect via wifi and only was successful in using bluetooth. The main reason why I bought this unit was for the wifi. Will be returning it and looking for other brand that works with wifi.
