This nice pack of 55 picture cards featuring Fantasy illustrations is designed to help parents and their children tell stories together. By picking at random a couple of cards simple sentences can be made while with choosing a greater number allows more complex stories to be told.Each 15cm by 9cm full colour, glossy card is colour coded around the edge and belongs to a given topic. These are Items, Emotions, Locations, Characters, Weather Effects and Creatures. Each topic has 10 different cards apart from Weather, which has 5. Illustrations range from Princes and Thrones to Castles and Wolves. Although obvious choices like Knights and Dragons are not given here, these are included in other sets to avoid clashes and several card sets can therefore be combined to incorporate expanded storylines.The pictures have been clearly designed with younger children in mind – the pack is for ages 3 and above after all – so even evil Characters such as Witches do lot look too frightening.I purchased this pack with a slightly different agenda in mind – to write children's stories! As a source of inspiration for plot lines they have been wonderful.Therefore I can wholeheartedly recommend these cards for budding authors such as myself or for those using them as originally intended, to help their children develop sentences and adventures!
