right size, Easy, and so far so good
I bought this steamer two weeks ago, have been using it regularly like three times a week. The reason I bought this steamer is that its size is just right for my family (4-6 people). Others on the market are either too small or too big or too expensive. This is the right size and acceptable price. It's been very easy and convenient. I do not need to carefully watch it when steaming buns. Just need to press a button and the steamer will do it all. I hope it could last long. So far so good.

So scary what is the black colored thing in the pot! Feel I’m poisoned
what is the black colored thing leaking from the pot!!! So scary, I feel like I’m poisoned…I don’t know who would feel safe seeing this and able to eat the food steamed in this pot! This is a bad product! Quality control is failing. I also see other reviews have the same problem which I wish I paid attention before made the purchase. Pot looks well but it doesn’t look safe to use and eat the food from the pot.

Good size for steamer with automatic turnoff
Like the large size, auto turnoff, programmable delayed turn on.

Cons and Pros
I'm giving this 3 stars because there are a few things I didn't like.Something that was really disappointing was that after I finished steaming my first batch of vegetables and washed the trays, I could see this dark dust-like material running out from behind the inner lip of the trays. What is that? What did I just steam into my food?! My guess is that it's leftover residue from the manufacturing process, so who knows how many toxins are in my carrots and broccoli now. Mind you, I did wash everything before using it - I think the heat loosened it up.The other thing that I would call out to other consumers is that this steamer is not stackable like other steamers. The steamer I had before had a slightly smaller top tray than the bottom so that you can place the smaller tray within the bigger one when storing it to save space.I also think the controls are not the best - but I get that it is just not a steamer, so a lack of simplicity should be expected. More function, more complications.Lastly, I will say that this is a big steamer, which is why I got it in the first place. I steamed 4 pounds of carrots and 2 pounds 8 oz of broccoli and I had more than enough space.

Pluses and Minuses
This is the fourth steamer I've tested, and the third electric steamer.1) It is the third largest, with one electric steamer coming in too small to be of much use, more like for single person - dorm usage, and another electric steamer being more for commercial usage, coming in almost a gallon larger than this one. (Imagine one of those rectangular buffet style trays.)2) I like the concept of an electric steamer more than I do the stovetop version. (I ran, or nearly ran, the stovetop completely out of water a couple of times.)3) The XL commercial steamer was a dedicated steamer only. That I did not like. Also, for my single-person usage (20L) it was far too large. Furthermore, precut steamer liners did not exist. Being able to use for more than just steaming is a value.4) This steamer, and the stovetop one, do have two layers of steamer tops. This I like a lot. Think: broccoli, carrots, and other veggies, needing a longer time, more intense steaming, to cook, and putting them in the bottom, while reserving the top layer for things that need less intense steaming.5) Both the stovetop, and the dorm steamers, had metal handles to the stainless steel steamer layers. Obviously, not a good solution, ending up with either burnt fingers, or wet hot-pads.6) Problematic though with this one is still its size. Precut 10in steamer liners, I've yet to find. 15 liters is an awful lot of space. Thus for me, 10in width is overkill. I'd be happier with 8in.So while not perfection, of the four I've tested so far, I'll give it the top rating.
