Great But..
I would recommend this it does get the job done but I have noticed that after a year it will just stop working .I mean for the price I don’t mind getting one year use out of it .However some might find it annoying I have purchase 3 so far they all seem to only work for a year .i don’t know if the bulb just has that lifeline. But def gets to trap all the bugs

Your bulb didn’t die after a few months, it’s the unit itself! I have proof on video.
The media could not be loaded. Short-lived units—both of them that I bought. This worked great for mosquitoes that were pestering us indoors, so well I bough another one a month later but then it seemed like the bulb went out on first only after 2-3 months and inevitably the second did the same. You would naturally assume the bulb burnt out but Shieldeck was out of them on their website, week after week and no response to email inquiries. Today I learned why they don’t ever have or attempt to sell the replacement bulbs. IT’S BECAUSE THE UNITS THEMSELVES BREAKDOWN AFTER TWO MONTHS. YOUR BULB IS FINE SO KEEP IT AS A SPARE. With mosquito season back, I had to get things trapping again so I bought new “Dynatrap” UV bulbs for my Shieldeck (that met all the specs) only to install them in both my Shieldeck units and they didn’t work either so I got my voltmeter out set it to DC and learned the circuitry was showing 26V and rising for a 9V bulb. So I needed something to get rid of these mosquitoes inside and overnighted a Burlan model QH009A which looked comparable and with good reviews. It just arrived, and I had to know right away what a working unit shows, and it puts out -13V, and sure enough, all my old Shieldeck bulbs and my new Dynatrap bulbs work on it. You can see the video for the results. Believe me, I wouldn’t ever want to throw anyone or their business under the bus, as times are hard, but Shieldeck has been confusing and frustrating users as you can get from some of the reviews by not communicating, not selling replacement bulbs (I checked back several times over the last year and always out of stock—now I know why, everyone will figure out the unit is shot), and plainly not being honest with consumers just so they can try to continue to sell $40 units that work great out of the box (they really do!) but will sadly die a circuitry death after just a few months. I spent $80 with them over a year ago so I’m not looking for a refund but my sad and frustrating discovery just had to be shared. 😳

Was skeptical but this product works wonders on gnats!
AMAZINGLY EFFECTIVE.I will admit I was a little reluctant to buy the product because of the cost, but I read the reviews and decided I needed to give it a shot; I am SO glad I did.I have a crazy gnat problem. I work from home seeing people through the computer and they could literally see the gnats sometimes. I do not have the best focus to begin with, so these things flying around my face were no help. Within a day of plugging this in, I could see the gnats already piling up.I am definitely going to continue using this product as it has made a huge difference, but FYI, the light is pretty bright. I could not keep it where I originally had it, but that is not a deal breaker for me given the significant reduction in daily frustrations/annoyances.

Amazingly effective, got rid of fruit flies in a day
I plugged in this insect trap in a room that had some fruit flies, and was amazed to come back to it a few hours later with the sticky pad absolutely covered with them, and none flying that I could see. I changed the pad and left it another day, and as far as I can tell it has completely gotten rid of them by now. This isn't the cheapest product, and the refills aren't that cheap either, but I was still impressed that it worked so well.

The light inside this oddly large device stops working quickly.
Absolutely terrible product. If you are looking for something that can stay plugged in continuously without the light dying, do not buy this. I bought 4 of them and had to replace the actual device itself with an entirely new brand, because all 4 died after one season of use (a few months from spring to summer) they do not sell replacement bulbs that are the correct size and wattage for this device. It is sticky, and does kill bugs just not for a long time, for the price to replace, it would be more beneficial to get a different brand that does the same thing. It also is so large that it will block an entire outlet, rendering the other outlet port entirely useless, and if you aren’t living in a brand new home, my guess is that you don’t have a lot of outlets available to be entirely blocking them off. Like in a bathroom, where there might only be one outlet, or kitchen space where you would rather plug in your appliances.

We own a bar and we found that
So these are good quality. They are shipped well. Packaged well. And these are kind of a standard when the pest people come. But what is working better for me personally are the ones with the sucking action. The round ones. These are bright but the big has to land on the paper and truth is it’s more random. So the big might go there but may choose to go to the trash can and may hit the sticky paper and may not. Also if you have security cams the bugs seem to like infer red light. So the ones that suck the bug in work because as the bug is flying from light to trash can faucets etc it gets sucked in. So in a week I check these and I got like one bug where the circle ones have 10 or more.So these are for homes and the thought it they would go into a socket one foot off the ground. Some small but reall challenges for me was our bar sockets are up under the top of the bar. Hardly ever is a plug open to the public and set in a way where there is a lot of space but the real issues is. This take up the entire plug. So you can’t plug anything else in. So how about an extension cable. Well it doesn’t stand up right. I’d like a design where there is a smal cable it can stand up or I can stick it to the wall with removable not hurting the wall sticky and it has a fan.The one with the fan in the end works better.
