I have never used a mega sized ink printer before and I will from this day forward. I had concerns that I would not get great photo prints from this type of printer but after a test between the cartridge style printer and the mega tank style I am finding they are compatible in print quality now, are they archival, no but I am also not paying archival print costs to end up with nice looking prints for the walls. I can pay the same for these refills for much less than paying the cost of GENERIC cartridges and a huge dollar less than the OEM refills. I have printed fifty 8x10s and still have lots of ink left in all bins. Using the cartridge style printer would have required replacing one or another of the colors already. Keep in mind everything I have said depends on what you are printing. If all I print are blue sky and blue Hawaii beaches well sure I would be using essentially one or two colors but these tank colors in such volume cost me so much less. I don't know what happens to the ink if there is an extended period of time between use or if they ink will dry up like it seems to do in the cartridge style.
