Confusion.
I’ll admit I am confused about this product. I originally wanted to try it only because it was a deal. “Extreme” after all must mean it’s better than everything else. My go to has been sil glyde brake lube. Now I am seeing all over YouTube and elsewhere that this “purple stuff” shouldn’t be used on slide pins. Permatex implies it can be. Im not even sure it’s purple! Comments here say it’s purple and the description says orange. So I’m not using it. Brakes are too important. I’ll stick with my Sil Glyde because I have years of real world testing done and I can trust it. If it works for you that’s great. Permatex makes some good stuff.

Works
You don’t get a lot, but you don’t need a lot, good for 1, maybe 2 brake jobs.

Works as advertised
I installed new rotors and pads. I cleaned and lubricated all the moving parts, including the caliper pins and all the rubber. I also used this on the back of the brake pads to avoid squealing. My brakes are better than new and quiet like a mouse. I highly recommend the Permatex Silicone brake lubricant.

Great brake lubricant wish i would have bought a bigger container
So about two years ago i replaced my brake pads and calipers and then over the summer I got a small vibration in my steering wheel noticeably i could feel it from the front drivers side tire and noticed my brakes would squeal when i came to a stop, and they were feeling spongy which i thought was weird. when i got home took the wheels off thinking maybe the caliper had some rust from the nasty Wisconsin winter, went through everything even bled all the brake lines with new fluid thinking that would help but didn't reapply copper anti-seize as there was still some on the pins, i just smeared it around. well needless to say it came back about 2 months later, and at this time the one pin on the drivers side was dry, i am honestly surprised it did not completely seize up on me, well all that aside i reapply anti-seize liberally, and figured i was done but my brakes still felt a little spongy. well i start hearing it again this spring which was about 6-8 months after the two incidents happened and i get the wobble back in my steering wheel, totally thinking crap i am going to have to just redo the caliper at this point, i call up one of my good friends who is a ford master mechanic and he tells me to stop using the copper anti-seize oddly enough made by permatax and switch to either this or the Ceramic extreme brake parts lubricant as they seem to work much better, knowing i don't do brakes very often i just buy the little 5 oz. bottle to try it out, and for the last 7 months i have seen better brake performance, and my brakes are no longer spongy, for the price i wish i would have bought more, who would have though the anti seize was my problem all along .

Permatex 24129 Silicone Extreme Brake Parts Lubricant, 0.5 fl. oz.
Shipped fast with Prime, good price point, I like the bright color as a visual indicator of coverage. 0.5 fl oz tube is good enough to do one car (all 4 sides) if applied with right amount. I was able to take out, clean and lube all caliper guide pins, all slider/fitting and shims. Do not know how it will hold up to time, weather and element but so far, I'm satisfied with it. I wish its just a little bigger like .75 to 1.0 oz tube.
