The anise gives a really nice fresh first impression, and then the basil and light jasmine come through and add to the overall freshness. I really like this! So many men's fragrances are heavy, and kinda punch you in the face with patchoulis and excessive spice. This is more crisp, like an after-rain forest. It smells the way the color of the bottle looks. Bold but not strong, if that makes sense, with a trail that's present but subtly so. The presentation is nice too, with an attractive and secure bottle, and a sturdy leak-free spray mechanism. Long-lasting--one spritz lasted all day. Honestly I like everything about this, including the great price.

When you first spray it, you get a very fresh and aromatic opening. I can definitely pick up the lavender and the citrusy bergamot, along with a nice green, slightly spicy note from the nutmeg. It's a very clean and classic start. As it settles on the skin over the next hour or so, it becomes warmer and more woody. The initial freshness gives way to the deeper notes of cedarwood, sandalwood, and musk. It's a very traditionally masculine and sophisticated scent profile. The patchouli and moss give it a nice, earthy base that lingers pleasantly. As an Eau de Toilette, the longevity is what I'd expect – it lasts for several hours without being overpowering. I wore it out this Monday evening, and it has a nice, confident presence. I see this as a great fragrance for the office or for a casual evening out. Overall, this is a very nice, complex fragrance. If you're a fan of classic, aromatic, and woody masculine scents, you will likely really enjoy this.
