We took our 58 lb ACD mix to a training facility that used a choke collar, I wasn't crazy about using the choke collar but I felt a martingale would be a more humane choice and would still let us have better control over our dog than the front clip harness we had been using previously. In the past, our dog has managed to break out of Martingale collars by kicking at the buckle, so I wanted to find something with either a very secure buckle or no buckle at all. I don't have the exact neck measurement of my pup handy, and he's pretty fluffy (part Golden) We have this color on the tightest setting, it still comfortably slips on and off his head when we are putting it on and taking it off but he is not able to remove it on its own.I can't say for certain since I don't have the measurements but I do think this collar runs big. I suspect we would be able to tighten it another half inch and still have it slip on and off his head easily without being too snug, but the rubberized logo piece gets in the way.I do otherwise really like the design, the colors are very handsome and it looks like something from REI. The tag silencer is a nice idea but kind of silly on a collar with a chain.

Very nice collar! It took me a while to find a collar I wanted for my dog, I didn’t want just a chain that would hurt or pull on him when he pulled on the leash. But I also didn’t want just a cloth martigale either since they can slip off easy. This one is perfect, I think I’ve had it for 3 years now and it’s still in great condition! Looking foward to buying a new one with a different design!

I’ve had this on our Roamer for over a month now. He gets multiple walks each week. He’s caught on to the clicks of the chain for correction. This is highly adjustable. I love the tag silencer, loop, and the chain. It works great for me.

Great martingales. Am Staff tough.............what more is there to say?

This collar is functional and comfortable for my dog. Doesn’t slip off and doesn’t hurt my dog in any way. I’ve been very happy with this collar. Just one note, it runs large by about an inch.
