Keeps tortillas warm + heats them pretty well in the microwave

This really does keep the tortillas warm for a good while. I do not use it in the microwave unless I am quick-thawing tortillas. I usually brown them up on a griddle then put them in this pouch. Or I make them from scratch. I was concerned that the pouch has no option for sealing it closed, but this has not affected the keep-warm function.

These quilted tortilla warmers work much better than the hard plastic ones. This is my second quilted warmer and it is even better than the first one, which I love. This one is 12" rather than 11.5" and it turns out that extra half inch really helps! The opening is a bit bigger, too, also an improvement. It is also an attractive addition to my kitchen. LOVE!

I dinged this one star on the easy to use category as it's a scoonch tight for my 12" inch tortillas. Also, sometimes, I like to put parchment paper in the top and bottom of the tortillas as it just feels more sanitary. This is really unnecessary as I wash this after every use, but old habits die hard. Without parchment, these will just fit your 12" tortillas.

I had my doubts about the value of getting a tortilla warmer. However, a few days ago I tried to make a batch of homemade corn tortillas but wanted to keep them warm so placed them under some moist paper towels in the microwave. It did not work great. The tortillas were soft which was nice, but they were not hot. So I figured I’d give a tortilla warmer a shot. There seem to be three types: hard shapes, basket types and fabric pockets. After some searching I decided to give this insulated fabric pocket a try. After turning it inside out a cleaning it and letting it dry out for a bit I made a batch of corn tortillas in my new Victoria 8 inch tortilla press I bought at the same time. (also great) After cooking each tortilla they were a bit stiff. I placed them one by one the pocket over the course of about 30 minutes. The steam and heat from the tortillas kept all the tortillas hot and made them soft. Eventually it was time to eat tacos. Each tortilla was steamy hot and soft. The tortilla warmer is a winner. Perhaps others would have worked just as well. (About me: I am a man in my fifties who likes to cook and bake with good gadgets)

The quality is amazing!!! I bought some before and within minutes they get cold. But this one is absolutely amazing it stay la warms for the whole time we eat no need to heat tortillas while we’re eating. They stay warm for so long. We use them for flour and corn tortillas.. it’s big enough for flour tortillas.
