Good pandan leaf, I purchased this multiple times

Note: I bought these exclusively to make nuoc mat, or Vietnamese herbal tea, so I can’t speak to how this works for anything else. I’ve heard that you can grind dried pandan for other applications but have not tried it. I am so pleased with how fragrant and flavorful these pandan leaves are! You can definitely smell it right out of the package, too—if you’re not familiar with pandan, it’s a staple flavor in Vietnamese cuisine and is best described as having a slightly vegetal vanilla flavor profile. I use about two tablespoons per pot of tea and it gives the nuoc mat I make a lovely subtle sweetness. The only downside is that the bag isn’t bigger—I’m on my second bag and will likely order a third, but I am using it literally every day. If you are more conservative or use it less frequently, you’ll probably get a good long run out of one bag.

I would give this 0 stars if I could. This dried pandan doesn’t resemble pandan in the slightest. I tried 3 different methods to extract any flavor from it and not once did I get anything other than a grass flavor. If you are looking to get this for any sort of baking or drink needs do NOT buy this. Honestly I have no clue what you could use this “pandan” for. If you are looking for the pandan flavor people know and love, nutty warm sweet flavors, save your self the time, effort and money and buy a pandan concentrate or extract.
