Zinc Oxide Sunscreen is the best choice!
I’m happy I decided on Coppertone Pure & Simple Zinc Oxide Sunscreen. The 6 ounce bottle is well worth the price as a little goes a long way. I always give the bottle a good shake before applying it. This was the first year I sought out all zinc oxide sunscreens. I wanted to avoid the bad ingredients in regular sunscreens I’ve used in the past. This is free of octinoxate & oxybenzone which are the 2 main bad ingredients in most sunscreens. This pure & simple sunscreen is free of PABA (para-aminobenzoic acid) which is an ingredient you should avoid in the interest of protecting your overall well-being. It’s also parabens, dye & fragrance free. I like the 50 SPF. I did some research on what it’s a good SPF to look for. This is what I learned: “SPF50 will last 2 hours in the sun. It should protect you 50 times as long as your skin would be able to naturally protect itself. However, remember that the lower the SPF and longer the length of time since application, the less UVB rays will be filtered so a reapplication every two hours is highly recommended.” Another great feature this sunscreen has is the active ingredient of zinc oxide is at 24.08%. I didn’t know what that meant so again I researched it. This is what I learned: “It’s recommended looking for a sunscreen label for a zinc oxide concentration of 20-25% for best protection from UVA and UVB rays.” So thumbs up on everything this Coppertone Pure & Simple sunscreen offers. Be careful as it comes out a little watery quickly but it rubs nicely onto my skin & is absorbed immediately. There’s no residue or white cast look to it period. Yesterday I worked outside for 5 hours. I took a couple breaks & did reapply after 2 hours. I didn’t burn period. This sunscreen kept my skin safe. I also decided to apply it to my face because I had it handy with me outside & my face sunscreen was in the house. This was lightweight on my face & didn’t irritate my sensitive skin. I feel it could easily be used as a facial sunscreen. So many positives I’ve found with this sunscreen! I most definitely recommend it!

good stuff
I use this under makeup, focusing on cheek and nose area. Ladies, this makes a great under foundation primer. My skin looks better than after I apply a more expensive makeup primer and this doesn't clog pores. So it protects my skin that has already been damaged by the sun, adds a hint of brightness under makeup, minimizes pores, and saves me money. Big win right here. :)

If you don’t mind white, it’s good coverage
Good coverage, no scent but very white on skin.

Great mineral sunscreen
Great mineral sunscreen, rubs in well, protects well during high UV times, doesn't sweat off, not strong smell. Used this for fist time on a 95% high humidifier day while walking around Pittsburgh between 11am-3pm. No burning at all. There is a film left but that's for almost all sunscreen, so not any difference with this one. Easy to rub in and may leave a slight white coat but not as noticeable as some other mineral products. I will buy this again and recommend.

It doesn’t leave you white or gray
The product doesn’t fit on the skin looking white or gray, which is what a lot of mineral sunblocks have issues with. I wouldn’t call this a daily sunblock since it’s a bit oily. But for being out under the sun, it works really well.

Good for face application, small, takes effort to rub in
Bought this because I thought it might make face application easier with my toddler. He definitely prefers it, mostly because he thinks it’s fun to apply and he can do it himself. But it also takes a little more effort to rub in than just the thin normal liquid copper tone baby mineral sunscreen. Gives pretty good protection though, once it’s all rubbed in! It rolls up like a deodorant stick, so you can keep it low. It’s very small, like the palm of your hand, so it’s best just to use for face. If you use it on the whole body, you’ll run out fast. It’s nice to slip into the diaper bag without it adding too much weight or worrying that it’ll open and get everywhere!

Goes on easy, comes off -- impossible!
I have very pale, sensitive skin and decided to try a zinc sunscreen. First, the good bits. It does a wonderful job of blocking the sun. It is very water resistant. Next, the bad bits. Even though my skin is very pale, it does leave a visible white cast. And it is very water resistant. It's nearly impossible to get off. Soap doesn't take it off, non-soap face cleansers don't take it off. To get it off my arms, I had to use a scrubbing brush. To get it off my face, I used a Buf-Puf (facial sponge), the surface of which was immediately coated with zinc sunscreen that I could not wash out. And I still didn't get it all off but had to wash a second and third time with fresh Buf-Pufs. I've since read that using olive oil to loosen the zinc works, but I'm not going to try it. I may use it again on my arms, knowing that I'll have to use a brush to scrub it off. That's OK for my arms, but I don't want to get rough with the sensitive skin on my face. Oh, yeah, one more bad thing: I did not expect this sunblock to bother my eyes, which are also quite sensitive to any chemicals around my face. I was very careful not to get the zinc within 3/4 inch of my eyes, yet they were still irritated by it. Great idea, maybe works well for some, but definitely not for me.
