Not quite what I expected
Edit:Amazon return was flawless (big thank you for that!) and another item was sent the very same day I started the return process. Replacement got here in no time and it was as expected. I probably (and hopefully as there’s not many brands as trust blindly) got the only lemon in the batch. I should just admit that it’s understandable to have a couple of defective units when producing massive quantities of them. Ammended my rating to 4*.Original review:It was many years ago that I’ve found out about SanDisk and bought an mp3 player. From that moment on, I’ve always trusted them when it came to storage options. (Side note: the player still works and the data that’s been left on it is still there). Over the years that came after I ended up buying multiple USB drives made by SanDisk and was always completely satisfied with them. The one I keep as a work horse actually got washed in the washing machine and it’s still going strong. I’ve had nothing but praise when it came to SanDisk but this changed today. I received this item as brand new, all sealed up so it’s a matter of quality assurance not keeping up to standards. The CF slot (which was the only reason I bought this) is sitting at an angle inside the plastic shell which makes it quite hard to slide the card in and out. Started a return and hopefully will receive one that’s been checked over.

Superfast card reader
Knocked a star off as only lasted 14 months..Maybe I was unlucky?I have found this works best on the rear usb3 ports on my desktop (the internal cable from motherboard to front panel on my desktop must slow things down a little)It really is fast SOO much faster that a USB2 port for transfering raw files from fast SD cards from hi resolution proffessional DSLR cameras - If your shooting weddings or events and using capture one pro or lightroom this is a massive time saver! I import to a fast SSD and once images are finished and delivered to client move them to a standard HDD. I have also noticed that on my machine the 3 slots always show up with the same drive letter and even show up when no card is inserted - so techically you can have all 3 cards inserted and visible in windows simultaneously (windows 10 pro 64 bit) love this wish they did a 5.25 inch bay version of this it would be brilliant!

Perfect comoact card reader
Absolutely love this little addition to the setup. It brings some much needed extra input options to the computer. Most pc's now lack any card slots whatsoever and if you don't want to expose the firmware of your prized camera directly to your machine then this is for you.It has just the right amoung of slots for most if not all users and is nice and quick when in use. As it is not too big, fitting easily in your palm, then it can fit as a necessary extra in your camera bag.m and priced well too. Being made by who it is is a guarantee of quality which is essential when transferring your prized data bits and bytes across to your machine and you don't want any transfer problems occuring now, do you ?

A Fast Multi-Format Memory Card Reader At A Great Price
I seem to be going through card readers faster than Elizabeth Taylor went through husbands. When my last one packed in on me I decided to do a bit of research and go for the best one that I could for less than £20.00. After reading all the reviews and comparing tech sheets, I plumped for this one, the ImageMate Pro Multi-Card Reader - Writer by SanDisk, which I know to be a reputable make. This unit is a simple USB-3 plug & play device that transfers files (in my case images from my camera) at fairly quick speeds. The outer casing is quite robust and, being of an ergonomic design finished in both matt and gloss black, looks quite attractive sitting on top of my Dell tower unit. Overall I'm very satisfied with this device and have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Quality item
This item has a nice heft to it and stays put on the desk — a lot of these readers are very light and slide about, That said, you will want to steady it with your hand, when you slide cards in and out. The connector on the rear of the unit is one of those odd Micro-USB 3.0 connectors, which are a like a wide Micro-USB 2.0 connector with a notch and a bit on the side for the extra USB 3.0-ness.The unit can also cope with multiple cards being inserted at the same time (which some I've used cannot): if you put all three in, you get three drives appearing simultaneously and can move things between them and eject them separately. The light on the top is orange when the unit is powered and flashes white when media is accessed.

This card reader is the only one you need
I don't understand the critical reviews on this product page. The sd card is not difficult to insert, the micro sd works fine as well. It does not feel like the cards need to be forced into the reader at all.I've only just bought this, so it's difficult to rate the reliability, but it feels sturdy. Some have reported that the cable connection is flimsy and causes a loss of contact. I simply don't see how this can happen. The usb 3 cable is a micro B type (the one with the notch) on the side of the card reader: it is very sturdy and does not allow any loose movement.I can only imagine people have left reviews for other items, and I'm glad I ignored them as I don't see a serious alternative for that card reader. Finally, I sue this with a 64gb XCii / UHSii Sandisk card and download my photos at 260mb/sec. I couldn't believe it. It's now taking me just seconds to import a morning's worth of wildlife photos into my computer. (it used to take 15 -30 minutes )

The fastest and most sturdy card reader I have ever used.
This piece of equipment went well beyond my expectations, I should have known, as it is a San Disk. It is sturdy, well made and feels it.The speed is great, much faster than anything I have used before.I needed this to save pictures to my laptop whilst in Barbados and could not afford the risk of losing irreplaceable shots. I need not have worried it is perfection. It was used with CF and SD cards and the cable connection is very solid, what more can one want? It stood up to some very unfavourable conditions and still looks like new.Price wise it is very competitive, much better value than others I have used.
