Comfortable - for shoes that are trash after a few months of light wear.
I paid the $96 for these because I have had AMAZING shoes from merrell in the past. These shoes, however, are flimsy. And I don't mean the sole - the vibram sole is great. But the upper lining is shredding apart fast. I am appalled. The last pair I bought on sale four years ago and they are less beat up than these shoes I bought FOUR MONTHS ago.Worse yet, I have worn them exclusively indoors at my job, which has been incredibly slow this year. I've literally walked less than 100 miles in these in controlled, dry conditions, and there are holes wearing through the sides and the fabric is frayed and worn down to a white Velcro textured mess. What the heck Merrell? You were perfectly capable of making a flexible minimalist shoe four years ago and this is what you make now? These shoes are expensive trash, I liked them initially, and they are comfortable, but I'm hardly going to spend $100 every four months on a pair of shoes that can't hold up to LIGHT wear for even half a year.

Didn't last long
I've had these shoes for exactly 3 months and they are already getting holes in the mesh. I wear these daily but am not hard on them so I am very disappointed in the quality of these shoes. I expect a pair of shoes to last around a year when they cost $90+.I really like the way they look and how minimal they are but I can't drop $90 every few months on replacements.

Barefoot & loving it
First, I don't write reviews on Amazon, usually I don't know what to say, and second, I am totally new to the barefoot community, so yesterday was the first day I have ever worn any kind of minimalist or barefoot shoes. That said, I am so excited at how comfortable these shoes fit. I have never really thought much about how our shoes effect our bodies, but a couple months ago I started running for the first time to get into "shape" and I got obsessed with finding shoes that felt comfortable for my somewhat wide very picky feet, no joke, I have gone through about 8 pairs of shoes in two months trying to fit the right fit. I finally settled on the Nike frees, great shoe, super comfy and great for running. It wasn't enough. I kept seeing minimalist shoes and barefoot running mentioned everywhere and I got interested. So I finally purchased the Merrell Vapor Gloves due to the insanely amazing reviews, and a pair of Amuri Z-Treks. Today, I took my vapor gloves out to try on the trails, and it was such an experience being able to feel the ground, something that I've always felt was the opposite of what we were taught and not appropriate. I am in love, and I cant wait until the joints and muscles in my feet get stronger so I can hike longer and even try running. It is going to take some time to get used to, and my feet are definitely a little tired and sore but I know no that it's because I am finally using them the way I am meant to. These shoes are worth the comparably low price tag to try, especially if you are just starting to move into a more minimalist shoe.

Comfy, but short-lived
I purchased these shoes four months ago, so I hope that delay will make the review more useful.I'm not a runner, but I wear these for work at a clinic. I'm on my feet for several hours of my 12 hour shift, but I also am seated quite a bit of the time. I work three shifts per week. I don't wear wear them on my days off.If you need a shoe with a lot of support, theses aren't what you're looking for as they offer none. I was looking for a shoe that felt like being barefoot and this is it! My toes are very free to move as much as needed. I'm short and can tip-toe to reach things. They are like gym socks with a flexible rubber sole, and I love them for that.I only gave three stars because with the gentle use they have received (they ARE running shoes), the fabric uppers have begun to break down where the first toe joins the foot (I hope I attach the photos correctly). If you are a serious runner and buy this shoe, you will probably need to replace them on a month.

merrell historically makes a great, reasonably price product
i realize this is a flat lasted shoe and bought them specifically for light weight and contour. however, the shoe is less than month old - maybe i've worn in a dozen times for 3-5 mile walks - and already it's ripping at seam on both toes. the shoe is poorly made. merrell historically makes a great, reasonably price product. however, this shoe - mine - is cheaply made and at nearly 100 bucks, that's messed up!

Awesome !!!
This was a great buy for me. It fits great! The minimalist type of shoes are the only ones that are comfortable for me. I ran with this shoes and it felt great, no arch pains. I cannot wear the traditional shoes with thick soles. I also love the color. This shoes is an alternative to my Five Finger Vibram shoes.

Poor longevity
I love the fit and comfort of this shoe. However, the sole is exceedingly thin and I have holes in both soles after just over 3 months of use. I use them for about 45 min of daily dog walking. No running and no trails. I bought these after having a different pair of Merrells that lasted several years.

Super comfortable, but won't last. Not worth the price.
I really want to give these shoes a five star rating. I love how comfortable they are. I am on my feet all day and these shoes are the only shoes I own that leave my feet as happy at the end of a day of walking around and standing as they were at the beginning. With that said, the one star review is because of the poor durability of this shoe. I wear them everyday, but I'm only walking and standing in them (I am an instructor so I'm pacing around a classroom not running out on trails). However, with what I would consider pretty standard wear, they have developed a hole where my pinky toe rests and fabric is pulling apart on the other side of the same shoe. I purchased these shoes in July/August which means I have only really put five months of wear on them. If the shoes were $10-20, I could get over going through four pairs a year, but I cannot justify spending $60-100 on a these shoes once a quarter. I am looking into other options, as I have read the newer model seems to suffer from the same problems. It is a shame because I had bought an early version of these back in 2012 and they lasted a few years, before developing a hole near the pinky toe.

Best shoes ever
The best shoes I've ever bought. Considering I've been wearing them nearly every day since the past 9 months they are still in very good shape. Before buying them I was worried about finding light sport shoes with a barefoot feeling but also waterproof, I live in England and I've never had wet feet while wearing them.

Shoe perfection
Love these most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. Quite used to walking barefoot so these felt great immediately, just adding extra protection for more hardcore activity/terrain without interfering too much. Shame it's winter as my toes get pretty cold out in them for any length of time at the minute, but looking forward to using them much more when the weather gets milder. Super light and flexible. Now one of my favourite possessions.

Best trail shoes I've had
Best trail shoes I have ever had. If you are looking into some off road running shoes, I do recommend giving this a very good consideration. They are amazingly comfortable and unless you are directly running on pebbles, the sole of your feet won't even feel the difference.

These are brilliant barefoot shoes for road and light trails - really ...
Fabulous shoes! I use Merrill for road more than trails as the soles are too thin for rough trails. These are brilliant barefoot shoes for road and light trails - really snug fit but with a big toe box so perfect for forefoot runners. Covered 25 miles in first 3 days with them with no problems. So good I've just bought another pair!!

Go for it!
I love these shoes! I really do. They are super comfortable and I could wear them all day. I wonder how could I live without it? I really feel like I would walk barefoot, and only walking is almost an experience! My shoes should be comfortable to wear, vegan and look cool. My expectations were all fulfilled. From now on, I only want barefoot shoes!
