Gets a bit hot, but you want it to. Just don't touch the sides once it gets going. As is, it is the perfect popcorn maker, even has a place for the butter and oil to heat/melt it while the popcorn is going. We use it at least once a week, and there really are no complaints. And on top of it all, it's adorable. And the bowl/head is such a good idea

Given as an xmas gift to my gf. She LOVED it. It works perfectly. Makes a good snack, as expected. It's a good size, and fits comfortably on our counter. It's quiet and easy to clean since no oil is needed. Great product.

I like all of the reviews that prepare the buyer for unpopped kernals going everywhere. They’re true and I appreciate the heads up. The amount of unpopped kernals was not as bad for me. I’d say you can count the amount that you see. The reason they come out (at least for me) is that they were coming out “with” the popcorn. I watched the popcorn lift the unpopped kernals out. Don’t know a solution, but just an fyi. Also, popcorn goes everywhere too. The sides of the chute are uncovered, so that might be something to take a look at. I’m going to add to the chute to direct the popcorn into the bowl. The butter warmer got “HOT!” I was expecting it to be cooler based on other reviews, but I had to use a paper towel to handle the ladle, so please be careful if you have children. I gave four stars for cleaning because of how small the area is where the kernals go. Might be tough to get into the air vents in it if somehow you get a gunk build up. Otherwise, great little buy for the Star Wars fan.

So R2 is super cute. He’s not too big, about what I expected. Very decorative when not in use. When not in use 100/100. Can’t wait for my nephew to see him!As a popcorn machine it’s definitely chic over function. It only pops 1/4 cup of kernels at a time and then only half of them actually pop. Plus the hot kernels fly around and you’ll find them for days, if not longer. The amount of popcorn it makes is about enough for one person, or maybe two-three if you just want a little bit each. But who wants a little popcorn?! Of course it’s air popped so it’s LOUD. But I think it’s great. The butter warmer is great but it’s hot so be careful. Since it only fills about half the head dome I will butter and salt and mix the popcorn in there then distribute to serving bowls. Helps avoid the un-popped kernels too.Over all it’s easy to use and easy to clean which is nice. The popcorn is good. But it’s loud and you have to beware flying hot popcorn bits. I’ll still use it. Just wish it made more at a time.

I made the mistake of looking at popcorn makers and my daughter saw this. I got it for her with liquid butter, powder flavors and popcorn. She loves it. The head turns into the bowl and you can melt butter on top if you want. I just wish it had blinking lights or some sound effects from the movie. It is cool otherwise and is great for her room.

This product is very cute and great decor but not very functional. Tried to make popcorn in it but the unpopped kernels were getting shot out of the machine all over the kitchen. It was very fast and the popcorn was healthy than a normal pack since it’s unsalted and made with no oil but it only ended up cooking half the kernels as they other were thrown out of the machine. It is small enough to fit in the kitchen is more for decoration than use.

This was a replacement item so we were acquainted with it. Is a great replacement for the Yu-Gi-Oh one. The only thing is it’s a bit noisier than the old one. But the kiddo loves it and was happy to find a replacement.

it pops popcorn but out if the cup of kernals I put into the machine only less than 30% had popped the oernals were popping in the bowl itself and also the popcorn and kernals were flying everywhere even with the cover had kernals all over my floor. its cute but not worth the money I spent.
