Got fed up using the rake and getting results but was hating how much effort it took, so I ordered this gadget after watching some videos of it goin to town on the thatch. It tore it up and made piles and piles of dead grass, moss and pine needles that were imbedded in my lawn for years. Love this thing. Not heavy at all, I carried it downstairs myself after putting it together. Feels like it's made with quality and the two attachments- thatcher and scarifier, feel solid and sturdy. So much better than raking all day and turning around, only to notice how much more u still have left to do. Great value.

Inexpensive, but effective. I've used this one a few times, mostly with the scarifier to prepare soil for seeding new grass. The power rake style attachment is a little gentler and I use that in the spring to prepare for overseeding. It's light, easy to handle and durable so far. Easy to fit into a shed, does not take up much space. The catch bag is pretty useless on all of these, it fills in about 3 minutes, but I've had a couple of different brands of these (at a couple different cities) and they are all that way. Just plan on using a manual rake afterwards, its faster than constantly emptying the bag.

This little dethatcher works great. Dug up all the dead grass from 4000 sq ft lawn no problem. My only complaint is that the bag is useless. Just leave it off and go over the clippings with a lawn mower. Was sceptical because of the price, but would recommend.

When I first got it I thought it would never work, but I was WRONG! Looks small and too light for the job. Was relatively easy to assemble and went together well. In the yard, it was Outstanding! I was delighted at the job it did and would highly recommend this. I used it before seeding on hard clay soil and it worked perfectly The lawn is now coming in (just as winter sets in) but it was a Hugh success. and the price was cheap.

Wasn’t sure how the quality of the product would be considering the price, but similar to other reviews it works well and is seemingly well built. It’s lightweight and was easy to put together. The clipping bag was small- too small- but considering how well it worked I didn’t bother just picking the piles up after.

BEWARE!!!! NO customer service......You get what you pay for! This dethatcher broke within 1/2 hour of using, and will not start, cheap plastic starter. I tried everything. My friend purchased one also, and theirs broke also, they emailed the company 3 times, no answer, and they have no customer service phone #....and as others have said the bag on back is useless.... It is good in theory , but returning ASAP!

I returned this item for being flimsy, the cord was constantly in the way and the manual rake did better

Very happy with this machine. Nice and light to move around and dig my moss out. Depending on the thickness of the moss I sometimes need to go over it a second time, but have had to do that with heavier machines. Ideal for light to medium tasks. Good value for the money.
