HE503GU GR ELITE

The optic itself is great. The green circle/dot reticle works better with my eyes than traditional red colored dot sights do. The Holosun brand, while admittedly made in China, has proven themselves over the last few years to be a decent quality piece of kit...not an Aimpoint or Trijicon, but first among tier 2 sights at least. And they're innovative, with the shake-to-wake function, solar panels, etc. I own several Holsun sights, used on both pistols and rifles, and all have worked perfectly so far.My mistake, however, was purchasing this one through Amazon instead of Opticsplanet, Midway, or Eurooptics. I've always gotten brand new items from those vendors. This time around I wanted Prime shipping and a $10 cheaper price...and now I regret my decision. The sight I received (in 2 days, as per Prime), was clearly used and abused. The box wasn't shrink wrapped as all my other Holosun sights have been. The sight tool was missing entirely from the box, the battery was not in any kind of packaging and instead was laying underneath the sight, the lens covers were on backwards (the cup with the higher walls goes on the front lens, not the rear), and most glaringly there was a large chip in the front lens as if the sight had been dropped and landed directly on the glass.So lesson learned - I now have to go drop the sight off at a return center, and I've ordered another one from a known good vendor. Caveat emptor.

I have now completely switched out all my other red dots for Holosuns. They have replaced 3 Eotechs and 3 Aimpoint PROs and 2 Aimpoint T2 micros. These things are just as tough as the Aimpoints and have the circle similar to the Eotechs for close in sight acquisition. I've been running these since before they were widely known and have never had one fail on me.

This optic is a steal. It is made in china but it's quality. Just a great optic. The "shake awake" feature is totally cool. This optic actually has an illuminated reticle, not just a dot. I am a huge fan of Eotech optics and I consider this optic to be very close to Eotech functionally. Bang for the buck, it can't be beat.

This green dot is an excellent deal! What you get for under $200 is well worth it! It was easy to zero, I love the green dot and the green circle reticle is a cool touch as well. Very nice clear sight picture and crisp dot/reticle. The motion activation or “shake awake” works great, I can’t even attempt to pick the gun up without the dot instantly turning on. Overall I’m very happy with my purchase and it pairs perfect with my AR9! Made it extremely fun to shoot! I was trying to decide between this and the Sig Sauer Romeo 5 and I’m glad I went with the holosun. Might try the Romeo on the next build but you can’t go wrong with this deal from holosun! So far I’ve fired 300 rounds without any issues but I will update as the round count goes up.

Just got the Green Dot HE503GU-GR today to replace a similar HS503GU Red Dot on my CZ Scorpion Micro. This is the 4th of the 503GU series of sights that I have purchased and installed so there were no surprises with the install. Really like the Auto shut off, shake awake feature, no tools needed to replace the commonly available CR2032 battery and the 2moa dot / 65 moa circle is the perfect combo for pistol caliber carbines / large format pistols. My old red dot HS503GU (nothing wrong with it at all) will go on a less used 9mm AR Carbine. It's a real shame that Holosun has discontinued this particular series of sights as they have the best combo of features that I have found.

This is my second Holosun and so far they have exceeded what i expected of them. Everything works on both of mine so far. Will; have to wait and see how they hold up over time. For the price difference and quality of this Holosun with the green dot i will be very satisfied if it holds up to its spects. I was very cautious at first until i watched some of the torture test people have performed on these units on youtube. I do not expect to freeze mine in water or throw it in the air 10 times ,but they seem to hold up. Mine is mounted on a 10mm carbines that will be somewhat of a test.

Excellent optic at this price. I have the ACSS red reticle version as well that has been running on the same battery for a few yrs now and it has never had an issue so I decided to get this version for the green circle dot reticle and it can take a kill flash. Running it with a Kley Zion mount on an C7 upper style carbine. Note* if you order a kill flash from Holosun make sure they are aware you have this model, I ordered one and it did not fit (Kill Flash is smaller and takes a adapter to fit this model. HS customer service sent me the adapter at no charge).

Loved this sight! Mounted it on my Ruger pc9 carbine. Very well constructed. Some of the negative comments about this sight are because the reviewer hasn't read the manual. The front glass lens is offset for a purpose, it isn't improperly installed. Accuracy is great, easy adjustment, aim point/point of impact are the same no matter where your eye is. Not really fond of the auto on function so don't use it. It's easy to activate with the touch of 1 button anyway. great price when compared to many other's with less features. I would buy again!
