I've worked on electronics for more than 30 years, and I have always used cloths and paper towels as my "work surface" when soldering. I learned at an early age that solder can drip off the iron and bond with wood and damage the polyurethane coating on many surfaces. A towel or cloth, or even a paper towel will provide some protection, but a silicone mat like this takes soldering to a new level. This is a generously sized mat, complete with several indentations where you can place screws and other parts to keep them separated. The Kaisiking 180 is HUGE! It came with a couple of really nice tweezers that will save my finger tips from getting burned and a anti-static wrist cord, that I am bad at using. I really like that it has several recessed areas for placing the parts you are working with so they do not get lost or disorganized. A couple recessed spots are magnetized and do work ok. Its a great addition for my work bench and happy I got it. 5 stars and 2 thumbs up!

This is the first mat like this that I've ever owned or used. It's fantastic, and I'm upset that I didn't have one of these sooner than I did! The little organizing features are great, and I didn't even realize until I got it that id had magnets in some places to hold screws...awesome! One thing I just learned, though, is that you definitely shouldn't stick silly putty to it! A trick I learned a long time ago from some older engineers was to use silly putty to hold a circuit board in place while soldering components. I've been doing this with regular static mats for a long time. However, the material that this mat is made from REALLY likes to hold onto the silly putty...it makes a bit of a mess. However, a quick Google search told me to use alcohol to remove, and that works great.

The mat is nice. Recently used it to solder some wire and ended up holding the wire between the mat and the iron. No damage to the mat or the table. Cleaned up easy. The tweezers are nice, good quality. The picks are fair and will work for light jobs.

Really nice mat lots of sections for you to arrange screw's and parts are magnetic. Ideal for PC GPU, phone repairs etc.

Honestamente, no sabía cuánto necesitaba esta alfombrilla hasta que la tuve. Si trabajas con soldadura, reparación de electrónicos o simplemente te gusta desarmar cosas y volverlas a armar (como yo), esta alfombrilla de silicona se vuelve indispensable muy rápido. Tiene espacios para absolutamente todo: tornillos, componentes, herramientas pequeñas, e incluso áreas magnéticas que te salvan la vida cuando estás con piezas que parecen tener voluntad propia y quieren perderse. La regla integrada y las muescas bien organizadas hacen que el flujo de trabajo sea mucho más ágil. Ya no tengo mi escritorio hecho un caos cuando estoy reparando algo. Una de las cosas que más me gustó es que resiste el calor sin problema. Ya he soldado directamente sobre ella y no se deforma ni se quema. La textura es suave pero firme, y no se desliza para nada, ni en la parte de abajo ni en la de arriba. Además, limpiar esta cosa es facilísimo: un poco de agua y jabón, y queda como nueva. Otro detalle que se agradece es que está hecha de material no tóxico y sin olores raros, algo que no siempre se encuentra en productos así. Si te tomas en serio tus proyectos de electrónica, esta alfombrilla no es un lujo, es una inversión. Te ayuda a trabajar más cómodo, más limpio y sin perder piezas valiosas. Recomendadísima.

Bought with my own money, im not a stupid bot, but guess what I was able to successfully change out my port on my kids tablet! They kept dropping it while plugged in!!! Used a hair dryer plugged back side to reduce airflow and get slower air and heat, then give it about 30-60 seconds in a spot nearly touching... I used the suction cup thing, which was enough to pull up a side if it was hot enough... slowly I mean, be careful.... slowly I thinly pride up the edges took like 30 minutes on this part because other people rushed it...and broke their screen! I went slow and followed a YouTube tutorial... and bam!!! Kids tablet saved!!! Sharp tweezers where perfect with my big hands! Only need this purchase to do it!
