is this from china or japan?

It is 100% from China. Its literally written on the metal blade. Written is the name of the manufacturer and stating "its an old brand from china".

Can this be used to scrape weeds growing between concrete slabs ? Is the handle attached very strongly to the blade ?

The tool is well made but not designed to pull. I think it might give out sooner if used to scrape.

Which is the blade thickness?

It is slightly thicker that 1/32 of an inch. It is thicker than my other sickle which is slightly less than 1/32 of an inch

What kind of steel is on the blade is on this blade? is it high carbon steel 1095 or 1085 or sk5 high carbon steel????

I have one but don't know the type steel. It holds a decent edge.
