Say ‘goodbye’ to paper and the frustration of trying to erase. The Scrubby Notebook allows you to write, erase and rethink effortlessly, so you can capture the creativity inspired by a whiteboard. This reusable notebook has 20 dry erase sheets (40 pages). Use it with dry erase markers and it works just like your whiteboard. Use it with correctable markers and the ink does not wipe away, but erases easily with the pen's eraser or a cloth. Permanent marker cleans off with a little alcohol. The transparent covers have a scratch-resistant matte finish on the outside, and a smooth surface on the inside. The smooth side can be used as another dry erase surface—use it to layer ideas on top of another sheet. The clear cover also allows you to flip over the notebook, create your artwork on the “last” page and use that side as your cover. It's perfect for brainstorming, taking notes, collaborating, solving problems, doodling and exploring ideas. Put it in the hands of a child and watch them make magic.

Beautiful notebook unless you plan to use Sharpies
Before I begin this review, I feel as if it is necessary for me to come out and say that this product was not made for me, but that does not necessarily mean that the product is bad. Without divulging my entire personal life, I am a learner suffering from OCD. If I accidentally create a mark or crease on a paper, I bunch it up and throw it in the trash. If I see a letter on a page that I do not like, I bunch the paper up and throw it in the trash. I've gone through so much personal waste that immediately validated spending almost $40 on a notebook. For others, this might not be the case. If you can get by with using pen and paper and be more than happy with the result, then you should stick for what works for you.The whiteboard notebook comes with one of the Staedtler correctable pens. Initially, I was not a big fan of the set -- it costs almost $13 for a pack of four colors of which I would only use one. As an college undergrad entering his sophomore year, I am extremely hesitant about spending more than $5 on a writing utensil. Before buying this product I was gifted a Rocketbook from a friend and I spent almost $10 on ink to fill a grand total of *ten whole pages per single ink refill* with minimal erasing. While I am straying from my review, chances are that you might be interested in or recently looked over the Rocketbook in your shopping -- it's just not worth it what-so-ever. Back to the review, because of the aforementioned incident, I'm not interested in spending a lot of money on pens until I can see how long they truly last.Seeing that this notebook allowed for use of Sharpies, I was instantly hooked. I have firsthand knowledge of Sharpies lasting long enough to justify the pricetag and set to fill up the entire notebook. The notebook slightly grips the hands when you lift up from writing. I personally did not find that to be an issue, but it might be worth one's time to buy a pair of fingerless gloves if they plan to sit down with the notebook over the course of a few hours. Ultimately, when it came time to clean the entire notebook, this is where my satisfaction instantly dropped. The sharpie dyed almost six pages of the set and while cleaning because the liquid remains of sharpie/rubbing alcohol seeped through the spine in the middle. I shrugged the incident off and got a bottle of acetone out from the cupboard. No amount of rubbing alcohol, acetone or warm water will remove the coloring AND ghosting on the pages. Some pages are heavier with ghosting than others, but bringing up a point from earlier, I am extremely anal about my materials. But even with such a bad experience, it's not Shift Innovations fault. The whiteboard is obviously meant to be worked with the correctable marker and even though it says that you can use permanent markers on the board, that doesn't necessarily mean that everybody else is going to follow in my footsteps. If you plan to use Staedtler markers, this board is for you. If you plan to use anything in the Sharpie line, just buy the Staedtler pens and purchase this product. Even though I'm disappointed with ruining a $40 notebook, I'm definitely going to purchase another two come my next paycheck -- one for me and one for my friend who gifted me the rocketbook. :)Before I end my review, I want to mention one thing that I found somewhat annoying when reading other reviews before purchasing this product. While the covers are not exactly the most professional, Shift offers a cover called "Hatch". It's the closest that you can get to a pure black cover without reaching an unprofessional level, arguably making it the best cover design of them all.

Best paper replacement ever!!!!
This product is totally awesome! I am a product development engineer at an automotive OEM and I use this thing every day to communicate and draft ideas with colleagues. I am also developing a floor plan for a new house I dream of building, and I am a woodworker for fun, and use this thing to draft furniture plans. I love it!I have requested a gridded product to be developed because that would be awesome for my more technical needs. As a note, the Staedtler Lumocolor correctable markers are awesome when used with this product. They are wet erase, but have a sweet little eraser on the back that is good for both precision erasing and can be used to erase line drawings by tracing the lines. Eraser is excellent when used with the Scrubby.I also found that using isopropyl alcohol wipes (about 6in squares) makes for fast full page erasing. Wet paper towel or cloth can be used, but the pages don't dry as fast with water as with alcohol, and the alcohol wipes are cheap and easy.

I don't write reviews often, but as a math student I LOVE WHITEBOARDS, I've just never had the confidence to lug my 16 x 32 masonite whiteboard to class. But, this book has changed all of that... I actually don't use my whiteboard at home all that often anymore. This thing comes with 20 sheets, and 40 pages, which is way more than enough to take extensive notes for multiple classes. Granted, I do condense and transcribe my notes regularly, so maybe you could run out of pages if you try writing a novel with it, or something. The main point to take away here is that, it has way more pages than one expects.About the quality of the product; it works just as promised, it's like a whiteboard cut into flexible/pliable sheets that work perfectly with the correctable pen that's included. The ink doesn't rub off with your finger, nor does it smudge when you close the thing, but if you scratch it, then... yeah, the writing will come off. Some might complain the pens aren't cheap, but the way this notebook will change your life is well worth it, especially if you write/draw/sketch and erase a lot. Not to mention, staedler sells refills for their pens.A few unexpected things about the product that I found annoying, but nowhere near being deal breakers. First, the pages can be 'grippy', and after erasing the ink with the pen's eraser, the tiny ink particles stick to the page. However, the little particles don't interfere with writing, nor do they get in the way, and they easily wipe off later with a cloth(t-shirt!). Second, the writing surface in general is very slippery, and you couldn't write a straight line to save your life without a ruler. All of my free-hand graphs look like Michael J.. -Oh, and one last thing... the pen fits snugly within the binding of the notebook by a well fitting rubber band, courtesy of the seller. All in all, this thing is awesome. I would buy another one, but I don't really need to... I can just... erase stuff.
