Great Mic
This is the best $100 mic you will ever buy. Very warm, good for most things but I use it for guitar cabs.

All about that bass
Packaging is mediocre, which is why I'm taking a star off. Mine arrived with a dent in the grill that I had to push out, although functionality was not affected. This mic is BASSY if you use it at the same distance you'd use a dynamic or a condenser. Give it some space. It cleans up really nicely with aggressive low and low-mid cuts and a generous, gentle high shelf; a warm and natural sound, just what you'd expect out of a ribbon. It likes a lot of gain, too; I use a Fethead to get its levels up.

Smooth and Silky
This ribbon mic delivers smooth and silky audio. Unlike most inexpensive condenser mics, it does not have excessive mid-range causing an annoying edge. I pulled it right out of the box and tried it on a backup vocal using a cloudlifter to boost the signal. The result was really nice. It is very responsive and super-sensitive, so you have to be careful not to introduce unintended sounds it might pickup. For example, with the backup vocal, my arm was resting on a wooden desk, and even the slightest movement of my arm against the wood was picked up in the audio. Being careful to be real still, I was able to make a beautiful and clean pass with the vocal. Many thanks to Nady for their great microphones. Nady is a pioneer in professional audio and is highly underrated. Some of the favorite mics in my collection are Nadys.

Cool sound
I'm not a professional, but I like how this sounds at about 18" away from a guitar speaker when mixed with an SM57.

Great!
This ribbon microphone works great for anything ribbon microphones are used for. While this is mentioned in the description, it is helpful to know that it has really ugly and excessive bad response when it is really close to the source, but it sounds great if you simply use a high pass filter after recording

Wow
I love it. For the price I've paid, this is the holy grail of amp cabinet microphones. I've never heard a cleaner, more accurate representation of my amps from any other mic. I've used a lot of classic microphones and have experimented with all sorts of configurations and this is now my goto mic when recording an electric guitar through tube amps. The dynamics are amazing, the recordings sound nearly identical to standing directly in front of the amp, the warmth is beautiful. It's the most natural sounding instrument mic I've ever heard in the sub-$200 range, and this puppy is sub-$100. I just hope I don't damage the ribbon, I couldn't live without this thing and would definitely replace if anything happened to it.

Rarely write reviews, this mic is very, very good
decades of experience in music and about a decade now in recording exclusively. Pretty wide mic cabinet. I do not have a Royer 121 - but I still want one. But in the meantime, very excited about this mic. Did a session of clean and dirty guitars swapping out different arrangements of sm57, 414, e906s, etc ... and the combo of this RSM with a 57 was stellar for both a VOX AC clean, and a mesa dirty. Maybe lacking a touch of clarity on the dirty, but I fixed that playing with the amp. Anyway - for the price, this mic is a no-brainer.

Did not purchase through amazon, but felt compelled to contribute to the love.
I had purchased this mic through a local producer here in Seattle. All I needed was a good ribbon mic to pair with a 57 on my guitar sessions at home, since I couldn't afford a rower 121. Prior, I had only used a 57, which to me is also a great mic, just a little finicky and bright. I got the Nady and paired it with the 57. The Nady in the center of the cone and then the 57 accompanied it (the Nashville Royer method). I blended the two mics and was BLOWN AWAY by the accuracy and true representation that the Nady brought to the session. I soloed the mic as a stand alone and it sounded unbelievably good. I'm not a hype guy, in fact I hate hype, and to be honest, this may not even be your favor (as sound is subjective), but for me, and this mic, for the money is a must-have. Just buy it and try it.(PS, another method, as shown in the photo is it being used to record acoustic guitar. Blend your DI signal with the Mic signal and get a huge and beautiful acoustic take.)
