The book is beautiful and exactly what I wanted
The book is beautiful and exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately, due to poor packaging it is damaged and I do not have time to return it before my grandfather's birthday.

I Was Disappointed in the Book, Not the Seller
Seller gets my highest possible rating ... book was very affordable, far better condition than expected, was very well packed, and arrived very quickly ... I was bit disappointed in the book's content though, in that I can think of a number of ships that arguably should have been included but weren't, such as USS Indianapolis and Golden Hind ... but neither of those is the most significant omission ... that distinction belongs to the Turkish minelayer Nusret, who's bold action laying the last 26 mines in the Ottoman inventory, while operating during World War I in the Dardanelles, an action that conceivably cost more than a by preventing the Allies from seizing Constantinople and knocking Turkey out of the war, thus prolonging the conflict on the Western Front ... in addition, the failure to take Constantinople led to the disastrous Gallipoli campaign where there were over 500,000 casualties (on both sides) ... Nusret, in my view was the single ship with the greatest impact on history ... that is, number one on the list ... head and shoulders above all others in importance ... Sincerely, JM CAPT USN (Ret)

Great gift idea
I'm always running out of gift ideas for my dad. I sent him this book for his birthday because I know he loves ships and he said he is enjoying it.

Great book. But TCG Nusrat
Great book. But TCG Nusrat, the mine layer ship in WW1 had to be in the book. She by herself changed the course of WW1’s eastern history. One of the largest battleship fleet in the world’s naval history could not pass through Dardanelles on March 1914 because of the great role of TCG Nusrat.

My teenage son loved reading this book and still picks it up now after several readings already! It was the perfect gift for anyone who loves ships, boats, history, technical details, naval engineering etc. It is illustrated, but not in a childish way. It seems to have just the right amount of detail for anyone who wants to absorb knowledge about vessels and probably already knows a fair bit. There are enough anecdotal stories from history to stop it becoming too dry, while also having enough technical specifications to satisfy shipping buffs. The book is not oversized like many children’s versions- it’s about average book size and the hard cover makes the quality feel great. He received this along with a nautical navigation book, sailors hat and a calendar of the Royal Navy… he loved the gift and anyone else of a like-mind will also enjoy this book!
