Comfort Food with flavour
I like the style of writing about the food and the beautiful photography. I have already made 2 of the dishes for Sunday lunch. Very delicious and flavours great. I am looking forward to trying other recipes. What I found difficult was some of the obscure ingredients, it would have helped if there was a glossary and a list of suppliers .

Fascinating Insight into Food
This is a cookery book and encyclopedia! The authors view recipes with an Eastern Mediterranean perspective and provide a fascinating back story. Some of the recipes are compelling, others "interesting". Many are quite complex.A "Must Have" for those interested in not just a recipe, but in the cultures and history that have given us some of the best, most healthy food know to western civilisation!

Outstanding collection of emotionally connected recipes.
Outstanding collection of emotionally connected recipes from Yotam and team, to give a fresh perspective on why and for whom we cook at home. A wide range of non-vegetarian and vegetarian dishes that are inevitably new, as they are largely derived from individual personal family recipes. Excellent. Thank you.

Inspiring
Not only am I a huge fan of Ottolenghi’s typical flavours, I love the cooking of Helen, Tara and, particularly Verena. Therefore I hoped this book would be everything I hoped it would be and I am not disappointed.First of all this recipes are not vegetarian or Middle Eastern centric. It covers recipes from across the world and the comfort aspect is they are ‘homely’ and recipes passed down and between friends. The book is worth it for the garlicky aligot potato with leeks and thyme - it is to die for. The Dutch apple cake is another must bake.If you love cooking and bold flavours just buy this book.

Inspiring and well worth a purchase!
This is a lovely cookbook filled with delicious looking recipes. Yes there are quite a few meat recipes (but a lot of them have vegetarian options) and yes there are often a lot of ingredients, but that’s what gives the incredible depth & flavour we’ve come to know & love from Ottolenghi. Would definitely recommend.

Vegetarians Beware!
As usual, a beautiful book. Well laid out, well written featuring excellent photography. I must admit to being a big Ottolenghi fan and I have about six of his previous works. I have found great inspiration from his usual 'veg-forward' content but I was very disappointed with Comfort. About 50% of the savoury recipes include meat or fish. I follow a vegetarian diet so a large part o this book is not for me and three other members of my family. I completely understand that meat and/or fish will appear occasionally in YO books, but I was surprised by the extent of this break from his usual content. There was no warning of this in the marketing materials. If there had have been, I wouldn't have bought it. Taught me not to make assumptions based upon previous experience. My fault, but I still feel cheated. Furthermore, I was disappointed with the increasingly common 're-hash' in some of the recipes. How many more versions of Hummus or Harissa are we to be treated to? As far as future publications are concerned; 'I'm out!' as they say on Dragon's Den.
