Worth the money
I’ve been a big fan of Altra lone peak shoes for while now. I have size 15 UK feet which are also quite wide so finding shoes is extremely difficult for me. I have previously owned multiple pairs of lone peak 4s and now it’s getting increasingly difficult to get these so I decided to upgrade to these. I was not disappointed. These shoes are so comfortable I could wear them all day. They also really lightweight, which means that your feet and legs don’t ache after a long hike.I have never had a blister In any lone peak shoe and the same stands for these, Even when your feet are soaking wet. They have good grip and dry out really quickly. The quality is great and compared to the lone peak 4 Shoes where there was a weak point at the front where the mesh used to deteriorate, I am yet to find anything wrong with these so far.Definitely the best hiking shoe brand out there.

Great zero-drop trail runners
My first experience with Altra but they are just what I was hoping for and comfortable right away. My feet are medium-wide but the standard fit was fine in my normal size, with a generous conventional lacing system and a wide toe box. The grip is excellent and gives me some confidence on muddy paths. When I took up running I went for zero heel drop shoes because the "barefoot" style was all the rage then. Honestly, the number of times people tell me I should be careful with my knees, or they used to run but it hurt their knees, or they know someone who used to do a lot of running and now has bad knees... well you get the idea. That and "are you training for a marathon"? No, I'm not!13 years on, I'm still running 10 to 15km a week, and my knees are fine thank you, so maybe there is something to this running style. It could be due to less shock travelling up from the heel. You certainly develop strong, springy calf muscles so perhaps that's the reason. It's also nice to be able to bound upstairs two steps at a time in my 60s, LOL.

Perfect fit
I tried all the other Altra foot shape shoes.I thought why not, I’ll give these a blast.Well, they’re perfect.Gone to 11.5 from 11 and there has never been a comfier shoe on my feet.Well, vibram fivefingers perhaps. But for a “normal” shoe they’re amazing.

Nice shoes
Not realy wide as barefoot shoes but widest on market I thing. Stickers start peeling but I glued them back. Overall comfortable and resistant runners

Super comfy.
Great for walking, not just trail running. Good price for a quality product.

Poor quality shoes.
I've been using Altra's for a couple years now, these were really comfy shoes, however I've only had these 2 months, and they've already ripped open at the sides and my toes hang out when I put them on.Very, very disappointed

Comfy - but poor quality
These are very comfy to wear. I use mine daily for walking the dog and in the last three to four years have gone through around 8 pairs. I keep buying them because the fit well and as said are very comfortable. But there is a big but! All my pairs have within 1 or 2 months developed holes in the uppers at the front. I spotted this again with a pair purchased sept 15th ands it’s now nov 17th. Some of the previous pairs it’s happened even more quickly! I dread to think how much I’ve spent in total on them in the last few years! If only the stronger upper at the front extended back another 1cm. So not recommended unless you have a very full wallet!!

Love Altra
These are great hiking shoes and I use them when landscaping around the yard. Helps minimize my Morton's neuroma numbness and pain since it has a large toe box. True to size fit. Nothing bad about the lone Peak 8 shoe model. The only thing that's bad about the company (Altra) is they run out of shoes fast (especially my size 14). I learned my lesson with the Escalante 4's (also a great shoe model) when I bought them to try them out and then loved them... but when I went back to purchase another pair the Escalante's they were all out of my size. So what did I do when I read the favorable views on the Lone Peak 8? I bought 2 pairs in my size without waiting to try them out. Once again, great comfort with that larger toe box for my aging 45 year feet. I only wish I had ordered a third pair to get me through the year before the lone peak 9's come out since I'm pretty rough with the wear and tear I put on my shoes (and body for that matter)... when I went back online to order them a couple months later, they were sold out in my size... again, lol!If you haven't looked at trying Altra, I'd give them a chance and make a run at them.... pun intended. They're great for folks on their feet all day like folks working in a hospitality/restaurant job, hospital, packaging/parcel job, etc.... and off course running, walking and hiking.

Super comfy, am I wearing shoes?
Tried these for trail walking with the dogs and they're now my go to shoe. Super comfortable, the wide round toe box and zero drop sole are so natural. Good grip on the soles, just need to learn how to tighten the laces to get them 'just right'; tight enough not to be loose but not so tight I get lace bite.I waterproofed mine with a liquid spray and rain just runs off them. Stepping in puddles still gets my toes wet though, water enters between the sole and uppers. But they weren't advertised as waterproof so I'm happy.
