M & D Toys are always the BEST! Benson the Black Lab is so incredibly soft to touch and is the most cuddly toy available for purchase. Benson's eyes are a beautiful amber-brown shade, so real-like they sparkle! His little nose has the baby-soft texture of a genuine Black Lab puppy. Benson's tiny red tongue is soft and perfectly proportioned for a Black Lab puppy. Benson's ears are soft fur on the outside with a super soft suede-like inner ear, providing an experience just like scratching a live Lab puppy ear. My Benson's soft black tail measures approx. 4" from base to tip, which may be a tiny bit under-proportionate from a live Black Lab puppy, however, it does not appear obviously "small". Perhaps the slightly shorter tail inhibits it from being used inappropriately to carry, throw or yank on Benson. The tail is very soft and well attached, and, as with live Black Lab puppies' tails, the feathers are not yet developed, providing another realistic characteristic to the toy. M & D have done it again with perfect balancing of the pup's little cuddly body in a beautiful "sit/stay". The "weighted bottom" and cute over-sized (but still life-like) puppy paws keep Benson alert and ready to play, yet still super soft and hug-able. Do not let Benson's perfect "sit/stay" limit his play! Benson can do a perfect "stand/stay", "down/stay", and "leave it". He does sleep only on his sides and does not curl up in a ball, let alone make three circles before lying down. However these normal lab sleeping behaviors sometimes take time to learn or Benson may be one of those special dogs who prefer sleeping with legs straight. Benson's side sleeping will not stop him from cuddling right up to you at bedtime or nap-time! Benson requires very little upkeep or maintenance. He needs lots of LOVE! No kibble, no water, no long walks, no flea and tick medicine or trips to the vet; just a few safety precautions. For not even one minute let your live Black Lab puppy interact with Benson. Benson is a toy for PEOPLE. I made the mistake of turning my back (to safely dispose of Benson's outstanding packaging materials to keep those out of reach from my live Black Lab puppy) only to find Benson had disappeared! I recovered him from my live Black Lab puppy, intact (the incident lasted less than 35 seconds), though missing one beautiful amber-brown eye and his sweet, cool-to-the-touch nose. Benson's tongue, left eye, both ears and tail are all fine. So in spite of the "incident" my Benson is a super great Black Lab puppy. I did immediately log onto Amazon and order two more M & D Benson Black Lab puppies for back-up just in case my original Benson has another run in with a live puppy. I also like to give Benson the Black Lab as gifts, so it is good to have extras on hand. This M & D toy is appropriate for all ages, and especially nice for Black Lab lovers who may dwell in areas making it impossible to have a live dog. One last pro- no shedding! I have had my original Benson (the one who met my live puppy) almost one year and no shedding even during the hot dog days of summer. Benson may be combed gently without loss of any of his super silky fur. I highly recommend M&D's Benson the Black Lab for everyone.

This was a gift for my girlfriend who has a real black lab, so she won’t miss her when they are apart. She loved it! Its real soft and good quality, eyes lined up, centered nose and tongue, semi sitting pose. All around I’m satisfied with the purchase.
