The addition of activated biochar has made a noticeable difference to the new leaf growth on my bonsai tree. Highly recommend for any bonsai that seems to be a bit withered.

Not sure why this is called soil more like crushed bark with bits of polisyrene I'll give it a go but it's awkward to get around the roots in a small bonsai pot

Not alot you can say about soil but think it's good for the plant.

I did end up using this on some trees in training pots but this is not suitable to be used on a properly potted tree.The mix is full of large pieces of bark I had to sieve out before using.Might be okay for potted plants in very large containers but in no way suitable for bonsai.

I received the 1lt bag of bonsia potting substate today, happy i didn't order the 20lt bag as i was going to, i have to say I was not impressed, does not look like the photo on Amazon, there were no pine bark that i could see yet in the advertising photo you can clearly see pine bark.Also did a drainage test it looked like the water took a while to drain even though the pot had 5 holes, i won't take a chance on this mix,I also took photos to show the results but they won't load on this site
