Ridiculous selling policy.
HX Outdoors makes great, economy priced knives that compare favorably with much more expensive makes. This review is a criticism of Amazon policy, not their knives.I own the version of this knife that has a spring-assist. I wanted to get another one. I saw this on Amazon at an even lower price, but after receiving it, found out it was a manual opening model. I returned the on shown and looked for the assisted opening one, but found Amazon will not ship it to my location for some reason. It's not like it's some switchblade or something. It's just a knife you can open with one hand. I know that it has to do with the laws in my state, but this is ridiculous. People can run around open-carrying firearms, but I can have a knife, a tool, that functions with a little convenience?Google the HX Outdoor web site and buy there if you have this problem. They sell excellent knives.

What a bargain!!
Great Value – Classic FeelThis titanium pocket knife is an incredible value for under $20. Honestly, the box it comes in alone feels worth the price of admission. It reminds me of the pocket knives I used to carry when I was younger—simple, no lock, just good craftsmanship. You do have to get used to the way it operates, but once you do, it’s perfectly safe. A great addition to any collection or just a reliable

Nice Starter knife.
It's a nice starter knife for anyone getting into bigger blades but far less complicated than other knives since it uses a slip joint mechanism to hold the blade open. It has two stops, 45 degrees and full open. It came sharp, really sharp out of the package and the grinds were well made and very symmetrical. The scales are made out of TC4 titanium, that although is one of the lower grades, it is far more resistant to chemicals and daily use than aluminum or perhaps plastic scales. It is lightweight, requires some force to open and around the same to close, again making this a great choice for a slip joint , non locking knife for jurisdictions where a locking or flipper or similar deployment blade may be illegal.I'm happy with this purchase and look forward to seeing more from the brand.

Do not purchase!
Garbage! The Pivot Screw is literally sideways on the Scale no where near close to being straight and it takes 2 hands to get the blade open and closed. Do not purchase this knife I’m sending it back the same day I received it!

Sharper than most knives that I've gotten before.
Since the listing shows that this is a no lock knife, I already knew that it was when I ordered it. So if I didn't like that about it that would be on me, wouldn't it? And I could tell there was no other way to orient the clip because it is held on with those three screws, and there's nowhere else on the knife that has three holes in that configuration that it could be moved to. I will say that the clip is super tight though. However, I imagine it will become less tight the more it is used.Well, the only complaint that I have regarding this knife, isn't even about the knife. It's the case that the knife comes in. I'm not going to reduce my rating because of it though, because I'm pretty sure the putting of the barcode sticker in the worst place is Amazon's doing. And it happens all of the time. It would be one thing if they were easy to get off, but no... Whatever adhesive is on the back of them is pure evil. Anyway, here's a tip for anyone who would like to be able to get the barcode stickers off as clean as I can. You know, which you should be able to tell by looking at the two photos that I uploaded. I use this stuff called "un-du." It's some pretty serious stuff but it does the job.And one last thing. Just because this is a no lock knife doesn't mean it's going to fling open or closed arbitrarily. I have to use both hands to open and close the thing. I actually have never used a knife like this before and I didn't even knew any like it existed. But since it DOES exist, there must be people out there that prefer knives like this. So I thought I'd try it out, and in my opinion it's a pretty good knife.

Great Starter Knife For Scouts And Here's Why...
This knife uses a slip joint instead of the more popular frame, linear, or button locks you find on these types. I think this is a great learning knife for first time owners like Scouts since it requires two hand opening and closing, which is much safer than slinging it open and closing on your pants legs as many get in the habit of doing. The D2 steel holds up well to abuse but to sharpen it back to a decent edge, you'll need a diamond sharpener. The carbide is large so it won't come back to any kind of razor edge but it works well as an extra blade for cars or shops.

No blade lock, but sharp
I don't consider myself a knife connoisseur, but it's hard for me to pass up a good knife. I saw this and thought I would give it a try as I can always use another knife stashed somewhere (trailer, vehicle, hunting/fishing gear...) Right off I was impressed in the case that it came in with good foam padding. Given that I will keep the knife in a toolbox, tackle box, my truck or somewhere, I don't need the case for the knife, but it was very nicely repurposed to hold broadheads for my crossbow. The knife, itself, looks pretty sharp and, in my opinion, is pretty well made - it feels solid, yet lightweight, and has a standard belt clip that I think is fine. Having used this a little bit now I can tell you that it is super sharp! And it feels like it will hold a nice edge if taken care of.The reason that I took 2 stars off is because there is NO LOCKING MECHANISM. I was considering just taking 1 start off because it is nice and very sharp, but I had to go with -2 stars because this is a safety issue. The knife does have a fairly positive stop when it is open to 90 degrees and then all the way open, so it's not like the blade is flopping around, but I probably would not have gotten this had I realized that it doesn't mechanically lock open. Because of that I think this is OK for some light work, but even with how nice it looks and how sharp it is, it won't be my go-to knife, and I'm not sure that I'd recommend it for that reason, either.
