Aah, this is amazing! Currently, I cook chicken breasts in the pressure cooker, shred them, mix them with cheese and an egg to make an ultra-low-carb pizza base. Previously, I used an electric whisk after seeing a YouTube hack, but I’m not sure how robust my mixer is before it breaks, and it can throw bits all sorts of places if you’re not careful. Then I saw this and knew it was just perfect. I tear a large cooked chicken breast into about three pieces and go to town on it. It’s very quick – 15-20 seconds, and it’s shredded perfectly for a salad. Give it another 15-20 seconds (max!), and the bits are smaller than my previous method, making them perfect for my pizza bases! It’s easy (ish) to clean, just watch you don’t keep stabbing yourself on the spikes like I did trying to get a sponge in all the areas.

We cook a lot of chicken, and then use it in a lot of different meals and shredding the chicken takes time but not with this item. I was surprised at how simple it was to use, though a little awkward to clean at times. Just put the cooked chicken meat on the spikes avoiding the centre (as that does not spin) and then move the handles around and within seconds, you have nicely shredded meats. Always wash as quickly as possible otherwise cleaning can be a pain but otherwise a great little tool and has reduced my prep time massively.

Had this for 6 months, and it's used at least twice every week. Dishwasher safe makes cleaning easy. Nothing has broken, and it shreds chicken in less than 20 seconds. The shred is a little different from manually pulling chicken; hard to explain, but you don't get as many long strands, which does change the texture of a dish, although you can minimise that by not over-shredding and orienting the chicken so you turn along the fibres rather than cutting them. The only thing that would make this product better is if there were a fitted insert mat (silicone or a food-grade PTFE mat) that you could pull up to quickly extract the chicken.

Bought this as a stocking filler for my husband for Christmas as he hates shredding chicken with forks and always makes me do it! He was clearly very excited about his gift (note the sarcasm) but it works a treat and shreds fairly large pieces of chicken in seconds saving loads of time in the kitchen! Recommend.
