Our best selling Scout design just got upgraded. The Expedition Scout Chronograph maintains the classic outdoor design of the original and enhances it with chronograph functionality. It is now as appropriate for the office as it is for the trail.

Want to bury it. Is it dirt resistant to 300 meters?
Junk. Looks great, but that's it. I now have a watch that looks great yet doesn't work. Went with Timex because it's a trusted brand...I have owned this for two months and I wore it once or twice a week; not on the jobsite, but in the office or at church. Immediately the chronograph hands went out of adjustment. You can re-zero them, but you can also pull a splinter out of your finger...neither is pleasant. They kept gradually moving around the dial and I gave up. I knew this going into the purchase and I don't use the chronograph functions so it wasn't a deal breaker. A few times it just stopped. I'd reset the time and it would keep going til the next time. Yesterday I put it on to discover that it's dead. At some point the adjusting crew fell out and now I have no functions whatsoever. Of course, I'm beyond the return date. Happy birthday to me! I'll send it out for warranty, but that will cost me shipping plus $7 to have it returned to me. So $60 plus $7 plus $5-10 for shipping equals very unhappy.

This is an excellent watch!
This is an excellent watch. I owns a number of high-end watches and I just couldn't believe how well-built this "Timex" watch is comparison to my other high-end watches, i.e. Rolex and Omega. All at a price that I wouldn't even worry if I were to lose this watch. Now for those who are complaining that the second chronograph hand not aligning up to the 12 hour mark. This is an easy fix. 1) Pull the crown to the position to set the time. 2) Use chronograph buttons (Top) to adjust or move the second hand into the position that you want to be in (in this case at 12 hour mark point) 3) The continual press of the button will move clockwise one second at a time until the desire position is reached. This is practically, same for all quartz chronograph movement. Hope this helps to alleviate some of the frustration for the second hand not aligning up.

Great beater watch!
I was surprised a little bit by this watch. I wear mostly swiss made auto watches that cost 10 to 20 times more than this, so i wasn't expecting a whole lot when ordering a $60 watch, but it really is a nice watch I can wear when i'm out hiking or traveling to... dicey countries. The leather strap seems to be decent quality leather, it is soft and smells like real leather. All the functions of the watch seem to work good, though i had to calibrate the chrono right out of the box, which was bizarre... The indiglo backlight is pretty cool feature too, it puts the lume on a thousand dollar watch to absolute shame... The case is a polished steel so won't easily show scratches, perfect for a beater watch. The 10bar water resistance is a nice feature, though with a leather strap, you can't really take it swimming now can you? Overall I am very surprised by the quality of watch for the price. I'm used to spending $60 + dollars on a leather strap alone... Well done Timex!

Highly recommend but read review for possible pitfall
For the price this is an excellent buy. The watch had no flaws although I believe thats not always the case (pun intended). Shipping lightning fast. The indigli was very bright. Now I purchased the same watch in green and returned ot. The green watch face was a shade different than the green in the photo. Also (on the green watch) the hands did not line up perfectly and the chronograph arms did not reset to 12 oclock. A different reviewer had the same issue - so my guess is every several of these Timexes is a lemon. But the return/exchange is free so I suggest you check out the wat h thoroughly upon receipt and if the hands dont line up do not give up on the watch, just exchange it. I have a $4000 watch stored in a lock box and I have several watches in the $200 range. But I bought this cause it looked very cool and if i get paint on it ir i drip it under a bus its only a $50? Loss. I highly recommend this Timex

Great watch! Packaging needs work.
My rating is an average of three things: the watch it's self, the watch packaging, and amazons packaging.First the watch- 5 stars! This is a great watch. I'm a mechanical engineer and often work in factories that do not allow phones because of the camera so I needed a watch to keep track of time in these places and I've just always wanted a watch. I didn't want something super expensive because I knew there'd be a chance of damage. So at $45 this seemed like a great option. Every thing functions like it should. And the watch just looks nice. I have received numerous compliments on it already. I really like the light up feature. Comes in handy in those dark areas and at night. Very comfortable to wear. Something I was concerned about having never worn a watch on a regular basis. My only complaint is the big second hand doesn't match up well with the tick marks when moving. It's not a big deal because I never use the stop watch feature. All in all it's a very classic looking watch that keeps great time. Just hope the battery last awhile.Next up the watch packaging: 4 starsThe watch packaging its self was great. Nicely secured the watch and protected it. The Reason I docked it was because it came with zero instructions on the function of the watch. I had to go to there website search for 25 minutes just to find some instructions on how to set the time and use the other features. instructions were very clear but they should be on paper in the box. Finally Amazon packaging: 3 starsThey just took the watch box and put it in a much bigger box. No padding whatsoever. Obviously this isn't a fragile item but I would prefer that my watch not be bounced all over the place before I get it as I know there are a lot of sensitive mechanisms in such a device. I've worked in post offices before and I know how packages get treated. I've seen them launched from one side to the other in to a metal bin and then piled on by more packages. All it needed was some peanuts, newspaper, bubble wrap, or heck even old socks woulda been fine. Just something to not allow it to be jostled around so much. Luckily it appears not to have affected my watch.

Great casual watch with easy to read time
I was looking for a relatively simple watch that had the date and easy to read time (ie: numbers at the hours, no roman numerals). Based on the photos, this seemed good and I liked the style. The watch itself is a little smaller than I expected, but it is true to it's measurements listed. If you have medium to large wrists, this watch will look very small on there. For me, I wasn't looking for anything too large.Normally, I can figure out these watches without breaking open the owners manual, but this one I had to take a quick read through to understand how to reset the chronograph. Other than that, it's very simple to use and change date/time.I know other watches do this, so it's not really a knock on this watch, but I wish the long second hand would be used for the time instead of the chronograph. I rarely use the chronograph so it's a waste to have the second hand sitting at 12 all the time. The leather strap feels and looks nice, and the finishings on the rest of the watch are very nice. It would have been nice if the strap had quick-detach pins, but its still relatively easy to remove the strap. The indiglo works great at night and illuminates the entire watch face evenly.

Decent watch for the price but...
Just picked up this Expedition Scout chronograph because I need a cheap beater watch with a timer for work. The watch has a classic 60s military chronograph look to it and is stuffed with features out of the box. This particular Timex features a date window, a split-time complication as well as a 30 minute total time and a split-second sub-dial. The dial features Timex' signature Indiglo lume and the hands are lumed as well. The case itself wears bigger than it's size. Overall the looks of it are quite stunning. That being said, there were some issues out of the box and if this is your first chronograph you might think you got shipped a busted one. Most of these need the chronograph calibrated out of the box. My particular one had the chronograph resetting it 12:02, the 30 minute hand resetting to 28 minutes and the split second also being off. Thankfully it's easy enough to calibrate these but you'd think they'd spend a few extra minutes doing it from the factory.Either way, after the adjustments, the watch works fine and I have no qualms about it. The Indiglo is bright and the dial is legible, the chrono works great and it looks the part as well. Just make sure you don't mind setting it up!
