I had a broken joystick on my quest 3 controller, only seemed to work on diagonal motion and shaky. After replacing it using this kit, the controller seems to work great, hence 5 stars.That said, I’m a former professional IT/electronics service person. This job was not hard but it’s not trivial. I highly recommend you first search for a “quest 3 controller tear down and assembly” YT video and see what the job requires. On the plus side, this kit has all the necessary tools and it worked well. With a bit of care and patience, then most reasonably handy people with good eye sight (or good glasses) will be able to complete the job without big problems. I’d expect it to take 0.5-1hr if you are being careful and but are generally handy. The experts are probably able to do it in 10-15min but that’s not reasonable without much experience.One last note, the videos I found did not have the most recent vibration unit in the handle of the controller. I almost tore the cord on mine not realizing this fact. If you find a video that doesn’t show this part, you can still do it but use extra care, or try find a more recent video than I did.

BUYER BEWARE:They have in their post that this D-pad is a "New upgraded 2024 version" with the QR code on the back... well it's not. It's an only Generation 2 and they are hoping you don't notice. First one I put it worked for 3 days. Next one I put in had drift when I pressed full forward. 3rd one I put in is working for now, but it's only been in for a few days. These are not reliable or anywhere near close to "original OEM" like promised in the description. Buyer BEWARE.

So it’s the parts you need and the tools you need at a great price. Be prepared that this is not an “easy” repair and that you need a good working space with a bright light and you need proper glasses or great eyes and a steady hand. There’s a ton of videos on YouTube to follow along with and I recommend just setting up your phone or tablet with a how to video and just pause it as you go. If you’ve never done this before then expect it to take a good hour each controller with some challenges putting the plastic case back together so that everything fits correctly and that the triggers work correctly and don’t get bound up. I have the Oculus 3 controllers.

My controllers had stick drift after 2 months again. Won’t buy these again. 😩such a waste of time and money

The kid was amazing. My husband repaired it so my granddaughter can keep playing her VR easy assembly and put back together and instructions.

Apparently these joysticks are not for the Quest 3. I installed one and the center is off pretty badly towards down. I read from other reviews that the ones in the quest 3 should have a QR Code on them. (like the one I removed does). I contacted the seller. You can adjust the dead zone so you don't drift but then you are losing analogue control over all that range Also it is then very difficult to push to the forward limit for sprinting. So I will have to do the teardown and replacement again. I'll test the each of the 3 others to see if it is a consistent problem or due to variation.
