The media could not be loaded. After the tumultuous end of the first book 'Powerless', Paedyn and Kai return back in this cat and mouse chase adventure with a heavy dose of romance. The Enforcer Kai is duty bound to capture and present Paedyn before the newly crowned King, KItt. While Paedyn struggles to hide in the shadows in the city of Dor with a handsome reward on her head, Kai marches on to fulfil his promise to Kitt to bring Paedyn back to Ilya alive. Kai and Paedyn are strung together by fate, destines for each other but will fate bring them closer or pull them apart?Reckless is a continuation of the story and since it was the second book of the trilogy, I went into it knowing that it will not be the end of the story but only plot development. It was fun reading the fun back and forth dialogues between the two, their struggles to keep feelings away from their actual reality. There's very little development in terms of plot. I was hoping for that in this book there's going to be a development of the relationship between Kai and Paedyn. When we last saw them in Powerless, till the last trial, their love was on the way to becoming a reality. But then her betrayal of Kitt's trust and the resistance was the turning point. I was hoping for just a little bit more of plot development.If you love playful banter (A bit juvenile but still cute), love reading enemies to lovers romance books and looking for a read that goes along the writing styles of Rebecca Yarros (Fourth Wing) or Sarah J Mass's ACOTAR series, this is a good choice. I'd say this is a mildly spicy book with no overt sexual descriptions. It is milder than ACOTAR.There's no such deep message, nor is there complex world building - so go into it expecting a simple read. I completed this is three sittings, the banter was cute, and I could visualize their interactions in my mind.Now, for some mild spoilers:Paedyn and Kai are forced to work alongside each other for survivalKai accepts his attraction for Paedyn and is torn between Love and DutyPaedyn learns more about his father's past life as a Healer and Resistance LeaderPaedyn also accepts her love for KaiI got this a week and half after the release (2nd Jul) , placed order on 16th July and got it a day later in one piece. But I'll say it again, please AMAZON , at least put a cardboard lining to save books from rough edges and broken spines. I have had so many books ruined. Please just don't place a book in a brown paper back and ship it from one end of the country to another. We want books in one piece. :)

It's brilliant... I've never gave any book 5 stars but this damn book deserves this...the storyline is firee and the chemistry of Kai and Paedyn is something which is marvellous.This book is worth buying 💕Lots of love and appreciation to Lauren

The second book of the Powerless series, continues with Paeydan running away as a murderer. Kai's only mission by his new king Kitt is to get her back and alive. The way Ms. Roberts unfolds this one is simply so volatile. The chase, the escape, getting caught all of it packed with so much intense action.What particularly stood out for me in this series, is that the lead lady is just as ruthless and as skilled if not more than the lead gentleman protagonist. There is just so much to take back from this. The sizzling chemistry crackles through anger, hurt, betrayal and that underlying, undeniable love they simply cannot ignore. It had me holding my breath in so many scenes and ending in a sigh so deep.The other element that I cannot not mention about this story, is that the love triangle is so different, such a rarity to not root for one angle only. I found myself compelled to root for Kitt as well, there doesn't seem to be an ounce of villainous trait him, so why not him? I don't remember another love triangle that I felt this way about.Lastly, the ending had me drop my jaw and leave me ogling over the lines over and over again. I sure did not see that coming! I cannot wait for the last of this series to be released.

I will pick up the final book—eventually.
